With my kids, it's more of collection type thing. Similar to when I was kid, I used to collect marbles, and play for keeps. My son does all these cool tricks with them, it's not enough for him to just spin it, he's got to out do his friends.

Use to go to the local five and dime shop and buy airplane, ship or car models. We would take a few days putting together , painting, etc
Then take out in woods with our Red Ryder's and shoot them up. Hang planes from the tree limbs and get as far away as we could and pretend Jap bombers coming in , ships on logs, Lol. The good ol days

Me and my brother did that too. We would set them up on the wall, and pretend to be snipers, trying to take out the tires. Put a GI Joe in the driver side and try to take him out.
