Best we got is John Isner and his game is incapable of ever winning a major as the top of the top players will eventually break that serve and he is basically incapable of breaking the serve of a top 5 player more than perhaps once over 5 sets.

True Fed was years away from his prime but there's a huge difference. (first year of slower grass too) Fed was an active player on the tour. Sampras was 5 years removed from playing any competitive tennis when he beat Fed! Remember Jordan the almost unanimous GOAT shit the bed when he first came back at 31 less than two years away from the game. Lowest field goal percentage and lowest ppg as a Bull. Sampras 5 years removed from competitive play and at 36 beat an all timer in his prime. As much as I hate the cheap bastard I was shocked when I saw him compete with Fed. Truly amazing to do that!

Gotta disagree with that. He beat Federer five years after retiring! Federer was at his absolute prime, and he beat him ten years his senior, five years removed from competitive tennis. All six sets were incredibly close in the 3 matches.

I am pretty sure Fed won something like 6-3 6-3 at MSG in 2008

This thread has stood the test of time. :)!/

First Djokovic delivers a crushing loss to Federer in the 2019 Wimbledon Finals.

Now he denies Nadal a chance to take the lead, and beats him on his best surface, pulling within one.

Hats off to Novak. He has now won 7 of the last 11 majors. (<)<

Updated Scoreboard:
Federer 20, age 39
Nadal 20, age 35
Djokovic 19, age 34

In 08 Fed won 6-3 7-6
In 07 Five years removed from playing competitive tennis
Fed won 6-4 6-3
Fed won 7-6 7-6
Sampras won 7-6 6-4

As a die hard Agassi fan and someone who couldn't stand Sampras (cheap bastard) I still think that is one of the most incredible feats of all-time. Playing an all-time great at his absolute prime and losing 4 close sets out of 6 sets, five years removed from playing competitive tennis. Sampras at 31, when he retired, had the same amount of slams as Joker and more weeks at number one. Who know how many more slams he would have won had he continued to play and they didn't slow the grass down at Wimbledon.

Congrats RAFA 3 way tie up top

Novak Djokovic tied Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal by claiming his 20th Grand Slam title Sunday, coming back to beat Matteo Berrettini 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 in the Wimbledon final.
The No. 1 -ranked Djokovic earned a third consecutive championship at the All England Club and sixth overall.
He adds that to nine titles at the Australian Open, three at the U.S. Open and two at the French Open to equal his two rivals for the most majors won by a man in tennis history.
The 34-year-old from Serbia is now the only man since Rod Laver in 1969 to win the first three major tournaments in a season. He can aim for a calendar-year Grand Slam something last accomplished by a man when Laver did it 52 years ago at the U.S. Open, which starts Aug. 30.

Rafa and Djoker are going to end up with 22+ slams. I'm a bit skeptical that record will be broken, we'll see...
I can't see their records broken. It's nuts to think these older guys are still dominating all the young guns.

What is 4th place on slams after the big 3 of active players. I believe it is 1. LOL.

But back to Nadal, that was an incredible win over Joker. I foolishly didn't give him much of a chance even with it being at roland garros.

True. Thanks guys.

I sometimes forget those 2 are still playing.

I think both are highly unable to ever win another slam.

Murray has gotten further back then I thought he ever would. Could still be a top 30-40 player even with the degenerative hip. Amazing what he has done all things considered with his come back.
