Not my worst bad beat ever but by far the most sore. Every year I play in a $1000 SB block/square and the payout for the final score is 70k. Its SB XLVII the muthafukin blackout bowl. My numbers are 7-1 and its late 4Q with the score 34-29. I am literally seconds away from my single biggest payday ever. But of course I take up the ass when the brutalist intentional safety happens with just :04 remaining. I'm still bitter asf about how the last 4mins of that game played out.

Does anyone care to share any degenerate stories
Here is a degenerate named Allen back in the day hung out at Bay Meadows. Allen was a regular at the track and poker rooms at night lol. So feature race morning line favorite is a route horse sprinting dropping in class. These two speed horses are taking all the money and George the senior of our group is saying this is crazy but Allen is touting adimently for one of the speed horses. Allen always goes to the window for George,Allen never returns the route horse comes down the stretch blows by the field wins going away. I had $20 win was a big bet for me back then and he paid $24 yeehaw still no Allen. For day’s George ventured over to the grandstands looking for Allen. He eventually returned I forget what the circumstances were on return. So years later I’m up in Tahoe kty derby weekend sitting next do an older gentleman playing ponies we got along real well nice guy. At the end of the day he says whoever gets here first save a seat says his named Frank Popalardo I say son of a bitch Allen and others talked about him all the time. Told him the story him and his wife were not surprised they told a story how he had run a Super Bowl pool and no one got paid lol. Last I saw of Allen I was at county fair with family I ventured over to satellite wagering the trotters were running there’s Allen all pumped up hollering to me he played pick 3 all/all/and a 1:5 favorite and two long shots won the first two legs and that’s the last I saw off Allen.

One more Bay Meadows story this guy we called Real Estate Jim because we had two Jims in our group. He always came late because of work so after the ninth and final race he leaves abruptly throws his exacta tickets in the garbage doesn’t want his wife finding them. Well there was a double disqualification and he threw away the winning exactas which paid very well back then exactas were $5 this was before software. He said a buddy came into his office and said how about that double DQ he said what! Back then the track was dark on Sundays so they went over to the track and rummaged through the dumpsters but to no avail.
