one question I have is this: I know its a TV show and all that and mostly fictionalized but are the people up there that stupid and dense. They are giving people from Duluth, Bemidji, etc.... a very bad name. Almost like all the reality shows about people from New Jersey :)

Imagine how the cops in Reno felt about Reno 911?

Billy Bob walking back and taking a dump while being threatened was hilarious. And then the guy leaves the room, and leaves the door open. BB is a very underrated actor. He creeps me out in one scene, and cracks me up in the next.... I'm still trying to figure out what the red shower scene at the end was about.

Spoof on Psycho perhaps?

Billy Bob is just fucking with this guy. The red shower is just the beginning of all of these horrible plagues that BB's character is giving Oliver Platt, who now think's God is unleashing his wrath on him. He unleashed the crickets in the store on him last week. And it doesn't help that Billy Bob also spiked his bottle of meds with some nice hallucinatory drugs. So he's really got this guy where he wants him. Pretty funny stuff...I can't wait to see what he does next.

Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred.

this past episode was really good, its obviously being tied to the movie what im curious is to what people think about BB and him blackmailing the supermarket king, i think that has to tie much deeper into the movie. im curious so see how this plays out.

my roommate just said guy who owns the coffee shop could be Lou who was a cop in the original fargo and now years later he owns the coffee shop

him having just said that i think the supermarket king finds the money and now this is 19 years into the future, i still would like to know how BB knows about who the supermarket king got rich.....

I think BB's character knew about this guy because Thornton was given a copy of his book at the onset of that particular job. And his life was probably talked about heavily in the book. And I'm sure this supermarket king most likely also made some biblical references in it too. Which gave BB's character even more ideas. So he's unleashing what looks like the same biblical plague that Egypt went through with the water turning to blood, dead animals (dog), locusts (crickets). I don't know what comes next, maybe raining frogs. I can't remember exactly how the story goes. But I do remember the King's first born was eventually taken. So somewhere down the line BB's character is probably going to do in his half-wit son. One other bout of what looks like bad karma is Lester's hand wound keeps getting worse with each episode. I guess he took in part of that shotgun blast after he killed his wife. And that metal in his body isn't going to heal. When he went into the hospital his hand either was treated poorly or for some reason not treated at all. Anyway, that hole keeps getting bigger and bigger. I think he loses that hand or his whole arm real soon if he doesn't do anything about it.

Lester did not tell anyone about his hand or seek treatment because if they knew he got shot with the shotgun the would understand he was upstairs when the Sheriff got killed instead of knocked out downstairs like he told them.

Still a little weird that a nurse or doctor didn't see the wound and treat it when he was laying on that hospital bed. The fun part is we now get to see it rot away little by little every week. ha!

xec producer Warren Littlefield said that the fact that they didn't have to use the same characters from the movie — like Frances McDormand's pregnant sheriff, Marge Gunderson — was liberating. Though none of the characters are the same, most of them seem to be inspired by a movie counterpart, as evidenced by their names. For instance, Allison Tolman's character is a police officer named Molly Solverson (like McDormand's Marge Gunderson), and Freeman's character is the oft-bullied Lester Nygaard, which resembles William H. Macy's character Jerry Lundegaard.
