Journey is right about one thing, teams with 4 or less wins do very poorly ATS.

The problem becomes picking which teams you think will win less than 4 games.

Not as easy as it sounds.

according to Wong, here is the breakdown 1990-present:

home dogs of +11.5 or more: 22-15-1
home dogs +8 to +11: 60-38-1

all home dogs +8 or more: 82-53-2 (60.7%)

Away dogs +11.5 or more: 109-101-5
Away dogs +8 to +11: 209-198-7

all away dogs +8 or more: 318-299-12 (51.5%)

As IL and Pancho said, this is true

However, there are some teams that are really bad SU that do well against the spread...SD about 7-8 years ago comes to mind when they had a horrid offense but one of the top Ds in the league. I think they had a 1 win season but covered a substantial amount of games due to their D keeping the score low. I will try to dig that up if I have time.
