Ace, a question. At the beginning of the playoffs you mentioned that the points would matter in only 2 of the games. 4 have been played, As I see it, so far, the points haven't mattered. I really think Pitt can cover this game, especially out of all 4 games, Pitt and NE look like the best games to cover.

Do you think the Pitt game is one where the points will matter, thus, the reason for your teaser? Might sound like a redundant question, but I think they win going away.

WITH ONLY 6 PLAY-OFF GAME TO GO AND THE ODDMAKER ARE RIGHT ON THE NUMBER(TIGHT).....I SEE ONE OF FOUR MIGHT MATTER.....THAT ONE REASON I DID WHAT I DID ON PIT... IF I WAS TWO PICK TWO OF THE FOUR GAMES THIS WEEK THAT THE POINT MIGHT MATTER IT WOULD BR PIT AND ATL.....

im going along with the master here. i agree with you ace on your picks. the 3 probowlers on that eagles D will shut moss down and keep the minny running game in check.the only drawback here is that the eagles havent played a game in anger in WEEKS and that may keep the total really low.how are you and your family ace i havent seen you around lately nor heard from ya. still have my email addy ace?~RG

The points did NOT matter in ANY of the first 4 playoff games...

3 Dogs won outright and Denver's 10 points certainly didn't help them...

The Points rarely matter in the NFL playoffs...We'll see if that trend gets bucked this weekend or not...

Ace if i were you i would be buying Pitt by 1 or 2 you could be picking up pennies and throwing away dollars! Always remember whether it is in business or gambling when you get involved in something always try to figure out how you are going to get out of the situation you are getting into. Followed you all season & watched you make great picks. But in last few weeks you seem to be more open to persuasion by replies to your posts. As an ex-bookie, you know the power of luck in betting. I feel like the Steelers are going to win by 1 point just because you cancelled the ML bet & went with Steelers -2.5 instead.
Not sure why you would put a line on Steelers -10. They rarely cover any huge lines when Vegas sets them. In the playoffs Dfens rules & Jets have got a chance to WIN THE GAME OUTRIGHT. Steelers did not play 2nd half of season so strong as when they beat Patsies/Eagles. Jets kept thier steeler game close except for a couple plays in Q4. Steelers have history of choking when expectations are high. I would set the line Steelers -3 at best.
My own lock of week would be laying all those points in Philly. Vikings used all the clubs in their bag to win last week. Philly's gonna show they don't need TO to blowout a crappy team at home. Nobody has accused the Vikings of deserving to be in the playoffs.

I know what you mean about stats over a long period of time. I used to think they were worthless. But I now think they can be useful in establishing things like what percentage of games are won by so many points and that establishes value between point spreads. Those don't vary significantly over the years.

Now if a person can take that information and apply it (by adjusting it) specifically to the 2 teams playing, it can be used as a guide.
