Last time I was at pain management I heard my doctor's receptionist telling someone it was their "2nd strike" and the next time they wouldn't be able to prescribe anymore. I assumed they let you have a couple refills in case you have them lost or stolen but have to watch out for addicts. The doctor was listening to the conversation just shaking his head...but they gave them to the guy/girl on the other line....Good to know ...I also had to sign a book of paperwork agreeing not to sell/barter my meds or get them from any other doctor.
When mine got ripped off I didn't even call the Doctor for more, not sure if they would have refilled it or not. I figured they hear it all the time and he would assume I was full of shit so I didn't bother. There are signs everywhere warning about doing that sort of stuff, why get on the bad side of these people over 1 month of pills and possibly ruin it going foward? That was the reason I didn't report it to the Doctor. They are very strict at this office, in face we get pee tested at least once a year. They want to make sure you're not taking too many but also making sure you have enough in your blood. I guess they are serious about finding the people that sell their goods and don't really use them. If you have too much or not enough it's the same offense in their eyes, you won't be getting them for long.
