IMO the Icelanders made the same mistake like Hungary made with Belgium: given the too much difference in individual value of players, they played too open.
No way if they would have adopted a lot more defensive tactic, the difference would be more than 2 goals with France.

Of course the open play makes a much nicer game to watch.

Very well said, and accurate IMO as well. Could have used The Italian Coaching Staff assisting on Strategy in this spot.

I figured they would go with a Game Plan like you describe, thus my play on that under 2.5.

Yep I'm thinking France +0.5, but hoping Germany takes it in extra time.

Germany is better than France, but France playing at home, makes this almost an equal challenge, with a slight advantage to Germany.
On a neutral paying field, Germany would be clear favorite.

Yeah I agree, but I'd take France if I'm getting a half goal.

Damn the line at Pinny has France PK -108 as a slight favorite, over Germany. I was hoping to see the same number that Italy was getting.

I'm feeling Germany Strongly and I can't even describe in words how +EV a Fade I Am when I have this degree of confidence in a play. Yeah, they work out about 32%-38% of the time, "LovePlay" fails to work out as I so strongly felt it would 66% of the ime or thereabouts, as astonishing as that seems. Thats mostly with NFL though...not sure it applies with Soccer though the Love Fade would have worked on several occasions in this and Copa America Tourney...did work in fact with me opting for Draw on Germany/Italy.

Loved Germany there. Backed off that for the Draw in large part to Fade The Loveplay.

Gonna be a tough on for me, this one.

Ladies and gents, France-Germany will be a great game!

@):)

Of Course FRANCE has never lost a major tourney game on Home Soil, or some thing impressive like that....lotta stuff has happened in this Tourney that has never happened before.

Would be interested to know what guy's thoughts are on the "importance" of France having never lost etc. as pertains to this matchup.

My thoughts about this statistic is that it does not matter at all.
Statistics are made to be broken.

Example: Germany never ever eliminated Italy in a direct elimination game at major tournaments.
And there were plenty of matches.

Until yesterday!

WTF is with all this bad weather lately in France?

Maybe this:
Strongest El Nino in HISTORY could bring SIX MONTHS of storms to Britain

THE STRONGEST El Nino in recorded history could lead to getting SIX MONTHS of bad storms.

The so-called el nino phenomenon, which is a bigass storm of some sort, has only been stronger twice before in the whole recorded history of humanity - the last time in 1997, when a whole bunch of storms made the weather really really bad in europe.

And people say this year's el nino is STILL strengthening and could soon break all historical records with the extreme weather patterns lastng until who even knows. no one seems to know. I asked, like, a bunch of people.

A meterallajist i called on the phone said the super-strength el nino could even dislodge the jetstream which is apparently not a good thing and would lead to storms. and he sent me this picture with the words under it exactly like i put them there, same exact words so i didn't change them he sent me this stuff to my email which you can send me email too if you feel like doing that and if you have a job available that doesn't require writing articles and having to turn these in to people please do email me please. link is the blue thing at the top above my picture.

peace love

This year's El Nino is eerily similar to the one recorded in 1997 which caused devastating storms

Thats how I feel about it as well.

I'm very challenged to respect "Past Results" (Matchups between International Squads) as much as I maybe should, need to

because so many of those are Friendlies, games that don't matter (such as Italy losing to Ireland, Northern Ireland...whichever that was, one of the Irelands)

Teams do play in certain styles though and especially if the coaching has been in place for awhile so maybe there is value to some degree in Past Results...
