I'm opposite you and not sold on Polish defense. Think they will allow a cheap goal.
Either way one of us will win, best of luck.

Bet #7:
Match: Holland vs France (Friday 20:45 CET/ 2:45 ET)
Pick: France PK (+101 @ Canbet/ +100 @ TheGreek)
Risking: 1.5 unit to win 1.51 units.

Another bet against my own nation. The French need a result after the goalless draw against Romania. The outcome of the Italy - Romania game could add some extra fuel to the french engine. The french can't afford a loss in this game and I see them getting atleast a point in this game for a push.

Result: 4-1

Record: 3-4 (-0.50 units)

Hmm, I didn't expect this. I am never an optimist when it comes to my own country, but I starting to believe that the Dutch can actually win this tournament if the team keeps playing like this.
This also gives us an interesting scenario for the last group match. Holland finishes 1st in the group no matter what. Holland can eliminate France and Italy if they lose to Romania. This could be a very likely scenario if we go back in history a couple of months.
Holland lost the last game in the Qualifying phase against Belarus as a last attempt to avoid getting in Bowl 1 for the Euro 2008 draw (Bowl 1 consisted of the weaker nations Austria, Switzerland, Greece and the team with the best qualifying record), Bowl 2 had alot the strong nations in it. A Holland loss and a german win, would give the Germans a place in Bowl 1 and Holland would go to Bowl 2 and avoid (Portugal, Spain and France/Italy). The germans destroyed the dutch plans, they didn't win their last game and they got into Bowl 2 instead of the dutch, the rest is history.
I am not sure if the Dutch will repeat this tactic and lose to Romania to eliminate Italy and France. A loss could break the momentum that this team has and Romania is a very tough opponent for the Dutch, we couldn't beat them during the qualifying phase and losing to them, could mean another meeting against them in the semi-finals (depending on the results in the quarter-finals). Holland will rest some key-players for this match, but I am sure that the Dutch will field Robben en van Persie to give them some extra match-exercise. A very interesting and luxurious position, the Dutch control the fate of Italy, France and Romania.

PS. I am still ashamed of our fans, they act like f*cking clowns....

Bet #8:
Match: Greece vs Russia (Saturday 20:45 CET/ 2:45 ET)
Pick: Russia -0.5 (+135 @ TheGreek)
Risking: 1.5 unit to win 2.025 units.

Spain completely overclassed Russia, but the Russians will face a much weaker opponent tonight. Hiddink is one of the best people-managers in soccer and I am certain that he can turn things around. All is not lost for the Russians and a win will put them back on track for a spot in the next round.

Appreciate your posts. I'm looking at the other side unfortunately for me

Wish I was having breakfast at Barney's on the west side right now. GL

expat in Costa Rica maar kom uit Amsterdam. Ze hebben een redelijke kans en spelen boven verwachting. De meeste bets waren echter geplaatst op Italie en Frankrijk.

Bet #9:
Match: France vs Italy (Tuesday 20:45 CET/ 2:45 ET)
Pick: France +0 (DNB) (+105 @ TheGreek)
Risking: 1 unit to win 1.05 units.

France needs a win to advance, simple. Italy needs a win aswell, but I rate the french higher at the moment. France played a good game against the dutch despite losing and they were dominant most of the game.
Let's see if I can win my first wager in group C

Bet #11:
Match: Croatia vs Turkey (Friday 20:45 CET/ 2:45 ET)
Pick: Croatia ML (-110 @ TheGreek)
Risking: 1.1 units to win 1 units.

Playing this early, the line will probably drop a bit tomorrow, lot's of people lost on Portugal today and they will most likely try to win it back on Croatia. Croatia won all their three games in the group stage. They showed that they can hold onto a lead and that could be the key to get the win against the Turkish. Turkey needed a miracle come-back in their last two games to advance to this stage. The miracle ends tomorrow, Croatia wins and advances to the semi-finals.
