Why do all negative black / white interactions have to be "racist".

Why can't two guys just be pissed at each other in the heat of the moment?

Unlike the beginning days of ESPN when the on-camera women had to actually have sports knowledge, now it is personality driven and the bimbo brigade has to rely on looks and wild-assed statements to get airtime. Most are only there to snag an athlete or former athlete (see Molly Quirm). Josina actually used to be a credible team reporter, but as soon as they gave her couch time, you can tell she is out of her element.

When did ESPN get so liberal? I ask b/c when Bill Simmons was there, he wanted to interview Obama when he was running for President and ESPN wouldn’t let him as they didn’t want to discuss politics.

crazy how things changed

disney bought them in the mid 90’s

simmons wasn’t able to interview Obama in 2008

do research my friend

they have been very liberal for a long time. I was unaware of your Simmons/Obama example. The ESPY’s have always been used as a platform for athletes to get their message out, and those have been on for a long time. Personally, I don’t care what any of their beliefs are, I watched ESPN as an escape, now I rarely watch it.

*actually after ABC bought them, then Disney bought ABC/ESPN later on.

while not the begging of their blatant liberalism giving the 2015 ESPY for a sports courage award to a tranny that hasn't competed in 4 decades should have been an eye opener and then, a year later, broadcasting an Obama town hall about racism, was a joke. that's not sports, it's politics.

like Bob Ley famously said.... ESPN does a great job with diversity hiring but not with diversity of thought. You're either on board with their agenda or you are silenced. Ley went to management for the last 15 years asking them that if they want to tackle race, gender, and political issues that they do so with all opinions represented. ESPN's solution was to give him less air time until you barely remembered he was an ESPN reporter. Linda Cohn was up next when they shut her down for asking ESPN to stop taking political stances.

Would have bet my life savings that a thread like this one would pop up.....

I think some are agitated by the way the world is moving VD. People don't like to labeled racist all the time. When individuals don't have a substantive argument, it's easy to call someone a racist.

It's an epidemic.

looking at my Twitter this morning and three media people retweeting a pic of a man protesting Kap yesterday, followed by a pic of the KKK and a caption of “see the similarities?”. No I don’t see the similarities.

VD, it's a shame people have to inject race or bigotry or some sort of phopia into everything. What Garret did was incomprehensible, it was criminal, and I would feel that way regardless of race, religion or sexual preferences. Yet someone at ESPN decided to make this about race when none of the participants did. When an Antifa mob brutally assaulted a reporter, CNN justified it because Antifa is fighting against social injustice. I know you don't think like that, but too many do, especially those that control the message. We're called racists, white supremacists, selfish, deplorable..... White men are the problem in this country in their views.I'm sorry, I think we're all the same, and I think what Garrett did is a crime and he needs to be punished. I look at a man's deeds and not the color of his skin. And much like many other people, I'm sick and tired of the race card being used in every instance all the time.
