True, ESPN basically potentially saving $20,000 in exchange for a boatload of bad PR. I say pay him (or allow him into the winners drawing if that is what it is as a poster above said) and just announce on TV: "If you're under 18 you've got to use an email of someone OVER 18 and have them claim the prize for you. We ain't payin' no one who is under 18." which I know sounds crazy but it's honest & tech saavy kids would know that anyway. No clue why this kid didn't alert his dad to what was up or....did he list his age as 12 on the entry? I'd think not cuz would expect the software would have barred entry w/ declared age of 12.Totally agree. I can't believe the prize is that cheap. It should have been AT LEAST $100K.....and $1 million if someone had a perfect bracket (which they know they'd never have to pay). Bad PR here....
Just proves that you don't have to all that smart to bet. He got lucky. Big deal. We all get lucky every so often.
Sue the kid and his parents for wasting everyone's time on all this bullshit. He doesn't deserve a thing. Send him off to boarding school otherwise it looks like its gonna be juvy and then federal in his future.
Wow you are too strict Scott, what happened to peace, love and understanding?
At least I am smart enough to know if I am eligible to win actually money. You don't have to be a brain surgeon (which is obvious here) to know that 12 won't qualify you to win cash prizes. Duh! People this dumb don't surprise me anymore. I swear they are being made in some factory somewhere or being given a drug at birth to be whiny little bitches all their lives.
There ..... I vented and feel so much better lol
