"I decided to let it ride, I'm very confident in UT, to the point in which I laid another bet on them."

i really hope you cash your parlay but you are crazy not to hedge it. if tenn. wins by 7 you are gonna wanna kick yourself in the nuts.

i agree...CFB is a long season, can't get rich quick. why not lay 500$ on it and just take the 1600$ profit if it wins anyway?

Thanks for the responses ... huge fan of The Herd myself, hence the posts.

I decided to let it ride, I'm very confident in UT, to the point in which I laid another bet on them.

I'll try to keep this thread going throughout the year and we'll track him. I actually did email him about this, curious to see if he mentions it Tuesday morning.

As to the replay ... I think you can get a pod cast of it. www.ESPNRadio.com

You guys are all assuming that he has $1,000 to hedge with.

Good luck to you letting it ride.

Nobody said he needed to hedge 1k, but hedge something!!

Do whatever it takes to get the money on there and hedge it.

No hedges, that defeats the whole purpose of making the parlay bet in the first place. All parlays should be made with the expectation of losing so just let it ride!!!! and perhaps go to bed Monday night crying!! But i don't understand why place another bet on Tenn? I got Tenn -7.5 and Fresno St +4.5 tomm!?! GO VOLS.

Now all I need is CO St to cover 12 and i hit my 3-parlay of KY +3.5, KY Under 56 and the CO St game.

LOL @ not hedging because of expectation? Are you freaking kidding me?

I'm sure the bookies will thank you so kindly.

the fact that you made another wager on tenn. just makes no sense what so ever. like i said before i really hope you cash it, hell i hope tenn. wins by 20 but your just not being smart about this. you have a chance to cash a long shot parlay for a nice amount of money, if it was tenn-7 then maybe i could see it but that hook would have me worried sick and worried enough to hedge.

Let it ride my man. The Vols are going to blast UCLA tomorrow night. UCLA will be lucky to score double digits in this one. I have talked to two huge UCLA boosters and they think it is going to be a long, long season for the Bruins.

Hedging has nothing to do with who you think will win, or who you talked to. It's all about the SMART and FINANCIAL play. Honestly, not hedging is probably one of the dumbest things a better could do.

How right you are. No Question about it. If you don't have $500 to hedge with, borrow it. In this game, anytime you can guarantee yourself a profit YOU TAKE IT !!!

Good Luck w/ the Vols.

Borrow the $$ and give the person a cut!!

I was talking with a friend over this, and he agrees. He thinks not hedging is crazy when you have a guranteed payday and can't lose.

I'd hedge $300-400 if you have the money. I never knew Cowherd was good at NCAAFB. I'd appreciate if someone posted his picks here though.

Either way --BOL with whatever you decide to do. I'm on Tenn as well.

From $40 to win over $2,000. I would HEDGE if I were you indeed. Why risk winning nothing?

I have learned many times in the past by not hedging my parlays and ending up losing thus winning NOTHING is stupid. I can tell you this. A lot of people including myself have lost their last leg in a parlay thinking it is a FOR SURE WIN. No game is FOR SURE. If you have the money or maybe if you can borrow I would lay some cash on the other team. I would take $1000 profit over nothing.

Lay $1000 on the other side and go to sleep and the next day your guarantee with $1000 the following day.

Hedge it out.

Ask yourself this. When you put the plays in, would you be happy if you only had to go 5 of 6 to win $1k? If yes, put that hedge in.

If no, still put the damn hedge in. There was a great thread duing the bowl games of the King and his huge bet for like $16k and his hedge or not strategy. If you have some time look that up ~ it's good reading and should help you make a decision.

Well .... I have gone with the mean of your posts and decided to lay a bit down going the other way. Not much, but it's beyond justified the more I thought about it. While it was just a small bet to start, no point in riding it out completely.

Thanks for talking me out of it ... to some extent, still pulling for UT.

Thanks guys.

And I'll try my best to keep Colin's picks / this thread going. Seems to be helpful.

Thanks again.
