So I guess we Should Leave Our Wives and Go over Seas to fight the Greater CAUSE ? The Truth is , Sometimes it's HARDER to be an AVERAGE JOE and live paycheck to Paycheck . As Previously Stated , You Can Admire Anyone Who Walks to his Own Tune and fulfills his Spirituality ...That's Great , No Arguement ....But Let's Not PRAISE the Man just 'cause He Made LOFTY Choices compared to the average man . He Certainly Ain't No Better or worse then the Guy Who STICKS with his Wife and Kids and Gives an Honest Days WoRk just to Survive .

I think it's grossly unfair to the other 10,000+ people that have died at the hands of the war-evading "war president" ...

the large majority of people that died had little choice in this matter (whether it be financial necessary to enlist or whether they were defending their own country from US occupation).

Yes, Tillman was a brave man.
Yes, 10,000+ people who's names we'll NEVER hear were equally brave.

AMEN Lander ...That's All I'm Saying ...YES He Should Be Praised , But I Think The Rest of the World is Making Him out To be the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ . It's a Little Sickening and mostly unfair to thousands of others Who have Died Recently . I Don't think even TILLMAN wanted this much Praise although He DID GET WHAT HE WANTED in the END .

Pat did exactly what alot of players did during WWII after the bombing of pearl harbor.. Many choice to join and fight, Pat thought 9-11 was important enough to do the same,, i wonder what you guys think would be important enough to make a sacrifice and not even the ultimate one that pat paid.. was pearl harbor enough? would an actual attack on the US be enough for some of you.. Pat simply thought 9-11 was enough to do something..

i cannot understand the reason for people to disrespect pat tillman. the people who are doing have to be so shallow, empty and lives have so little meaning that i feel sorry for them. to say that he gave up everything to die a meaningless death is at best intellectually dim. i saw one person actually quoting a line from sonny corleone for god's sakes. you do know that sonny is a character in a ficitonal movie about a bunch of greedy hoodlums don't you?? not exactly the best place to get a quote to make your point but when taking into account the poster who used the quote its probably about as profound as he could come up with.

Pat tillman DID NOT SEEK ATTENTION.

And would you rather have the media focus on the Friends finale or Survivor or the stupid ass that faked her kidnapping, Oromorusa or whatever from that Donald Trump nonsense?

And for the last time ,HE DIED IN AFGHANISTAN not Iraq so whether or not you agree with the Iraq war it does not matter. We have to be in Afghanistan because we are not p*ssies like the Spanish or the French.

Pat Tillman did an admirable thing in turning away from a life of fame and riches in order to stand up for his ideals. I imagine that at least once in Afghanistan he had a fellow soldier ask him for an autograph or to take his picture with him, and if so Tillman almost certainly a) obliged and b) felt a little uncomfortable at the attention out of the context of his career as a pro sports player.

That said, Tillman's greatness is not evidenced by his death -- it was a fact on the day he walked away from his contract offer. It's a tragedy that he died, but death is a tragedy, even if the dead is not a former pro ball player who gave up fame and riches to stand up for his beliefs. You guys need to get past this, because you are a little late in paying your respects. He deserved it some time ago, and the fact that he had to die to get all this attention is just sickening to me.

You guys Are Taking this Very Personally ...This was BUSINESS ...his Death wasn't PERSONAL . Overall Pat's Death was a WASTE ...that's what I'm mad about ... just the Ridiculous Notion ' it's Great to Die for your country is not much different then the terroists who Die for 'Allah'. As far as me speaking Arab ?.... 'Ali Boom I ay , Ali Boom I ay , O lay ..O lay , O Lay ...O Lay...O Lay !
