The Inflation Is Awesome Act allows for $7500 consumer credit to buy your new shitbag electric vehicle. So what do you think just happened? Well the average price of EV's are suddenly 56.7% higher than they were 12 months ago with the major manufacturers (selling > 200,000/yr) not even qualifying for this, ahemm, credit. If you want to go the hybrid route not only do they NOT qualify for a consumer credit but are now priced at 30.5% higher than summer 2021.
Tesla increased prices of every model by at least $3,000 including a 10% (6k) increase on their top selling Model Y SUV even though they don't qualify for the EV credit (!)
GM tacked on an extra $6,250 for their Hummer EV's even though they also don't qualify for the EV credit (!)
Nissan Leaf up an average of $8,600 but is eligible for the $7,500 credit so lucky you, you'll only pay $1k more than last month. LOL
Toyota suddenly jacked everything up thanks to your credit. Prius up 37%, Prius Prime up 34%, and the Avalon up 33%
How about that cool new F-150 Lightning? Surely good 'ol Ford didn't price gouge thanks to your government? Well, sorry to say they just started taking new orders for the truck with the base model priced $7000 higher (LOL) and the Lariat Extended Range up $9,000. But, hey, you'll be able to go 240 miles per charge instead of the normal 200
