oh yes......i just realized that book #1 with the soft lines does NOT cancel bets if the player retires as long as one serve is made.......while the other book cancels all bets if one of the players retires early

Sounds like 5 Dimes vs. Pinnacle.

the money that you put up for a wager or put at risk should be the amount that goes toward rollover in my humble opinion.

Earl: I think that's the way most books do it. So 2200 for 2000 counts 2200 not 2000, win or lose.

I have taken the whole amount on 1 bet say -135, and played the other side at Pinny say +133, and just hope I win at the good book. It usually works, may take 2-3 shots. I use that if I don't want the bonus book, just the bonus. Sometimes you know.

I don't feel bad about it, esp. if they solicited me.

Halifax- So you are saying in the case of say Olympic or pinbet or wsex that I send in 5000 and get a 500 bonus which would be roughly 25000 that needs to be wagered to roll it over. Then lets say i send in 20000 more and get no bonus and play one wager on Oklahoma on the money line this week at -1450 and play 25000 to get 1724. You are saying the money is now rolled over and bonus is mine? I think you are sadly mistaken. I sure wish it worked that way!!!! All that would count is the 1724. That has been my experience everywhere.
Given your scenario, your rollover would be satisfied at Olympic with the single 25,000 / 1,724 bet. Many would view it as "cheesy" (for lack of a better word), but you've satisfied the rollover.

-1450 favs can lose, otherwise why have a line ? The book gets M/L dog action too. What's the takeback on -1450. +1100 ? It works out the same, the vig is there.

The "cheesy" way is playing for a tie. 3 in NFL, 5 in NHL.

Do those count ? I say they do.

well, it looks like i got my 200.00 bonus money from ABC a much quicker way than the rollover.........i scalped their tennis lines with Pinnacles last night and made five wagers ranging from 150.00 to 750.00 and lost every one of them on the ABC website and won every one of them at the Pinnacle site......so no more rollover to deal with at abc, and i dont have to deal with their tight lines anymore for shopping........

i am gonna post up with bowmans i think until they cut me off of their square lines......then after that i will have to find another book i like .......

i already have betjamaica, pinnacle and abc......but i think abc is done for now simply because of the tight lines.......

This is an issue that should be agreed on in the industry. Perhaps that group of guys who met in Vegas can meet again next time and get a clear definition on this and anyone who says "rollover" must follow those terms or risk a black mark.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Id also suggest those that get together get a definition for "Miss Line" a definition for how many points off is really considered a miss line or how big a spread on a money line is considered a miss line. Define it and the players and books can hold to it.

also define bonus whore

professional

runner

and slow pay

get agreement on these terms and hold players and books to them. That would solve 955 of the arguments and bashing on this site. Everyone would know the definitions and it would be easy to figure out what the correct move is to make. Anyone agree. Id love to chair this but I just cant spend that much time on this stuff.

these little definitions should be standard and we should work on getting them defined.

well i only play straight wagers........as i believe teasers and parlays are sucker bets.....no offense to you personally of course......

as far as ABC's lines.....every time i do some line shopping on any game.....95% of the time their lines are moving towards what side i am intending on playing.....OR they have shaded the side i want by adding extra juice of -125 when other shops might be -115 on that same side......

it is great if you want the other side.....but when it is constantly going against your choice of team or total....then it kinda sucks and i am definately going to post up with bowmans and play their soft lines when available until they move me over to their 2nd set of lines.....

i like betjamaica....because i can almost always predict which way they will move their lines because they tend to follow pinnacle......so if i dont get what i want at pinnacle with the reduced juice, i have a second window already open with betjamaica and jump on it before they have a chance to change it
