personally i do not like this situation.. what and the heck has oregon been doing for three years besides not recruiting a QB? If they need to go to FCS to find a replacement it speaks volumes about a recruiting flaw. How can you not have recruited another QB who can step on the field and play?

Interestingly enough, both returning qbs are pro style qbs that no major program wanted. Truth is Oregon just grabs table scraps after the big boys are done eating. This FCS guy is another example. Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this guy will be the first successful one year wonder FSC transfer in football history and Oregon will finish second again.

Yea we grab enough table scraps to where coaches like Mack Brown snitch us out to the NCAA..99% of the schools out there would love grabbing the same table scraps and start competing in playoff games

If the truth doesn't suit you then just lie about it.

Mahalak is a dual threat QB and he was heavily recruited.
See for yourself since it's clear you need to lie because don't
know what you are talking about.

Jeff Lockie also can run with the ball.
I'm sure you already know that he was Mariota's back up last year, right?
He was also heavily recruited.

Best way to elevate your program on the RX is to try and trash another..no reason to focus on your own

Why are so many coaches worth their salt unable to do squat with the Vols?

Now that Lane Kiffin is at Bama working for a coach that likes him and a system
that actually works and not on restrictions everyone but Vol fans are happy with
him.

Q: Name the last coach at Tennessee that didn't have a losing year before Butch
Jones's 7-6 (including bowl) record last season.

Dude, Florida signed the #1 QB in the nation - Jeff Driskel - a 5-star (he committed to Meyer before he left for "health reasons")....and he was among the primary reasons UF has been in the tank the last 4 years on offense.

There are dozens of reasons a team could get into a QB problem. I use Florida as an example, because that's who I follow, but it happens at a lot of schools. UF had 2 other former QBs that were starters at other D1 schools this year (Murphy at BC & Brissett at NC State). UF didn't sign a QB this year and has only 3 scholarship QBs on the roster (thanks Will Muschamp).

So, on that note, good for Oregon. They did what they had to do. There are several other transfer QBs out there. Coker expected to walk into Bama last year (after leaving FSU) and got beat out by Sims. There's no guarantee this kid will be Oregon's starter next year (although it looks like he will...but he won't be there for the spring). Hell, Jeff Driskel transferred to La Tech. He could be their starter next year. Murphy to BC last year was the same situation (he transferred and started immediately). I didn't see any threads complaining about that.....

Peyton Manning can run the ball too, just not very well.

Both qbs were listed as pro style by rivals in their recruiting profiles. Not many have seen his film. Mahaliks biggest offer was Duke and Cutcliffe who is like the king of pro style qbs.

Jeff Lockie was heavily recruited? His only other offer was San Diego St. Who's the liar?

This is just a simple transfer that to many are making to big a deal of... lets face it, if it wasn't for Oregon doing this, it would be a non story...

There's a story about the Montana State coach complaining about this....suggesting that 1AA could become a Triple-A or developmental league for D1 schools. I disagree. These kids have to GRADUATE and STILL HAVE ELIGIBILITY in order to do this. They are student-athletes who are pursuing a Master's Degree. Other than Russell Wilson, there aren't many success stories with this rule. I hope the NCAA keeps it.

They already have a couple of good QB's stashed, one has redshirted.
I know that Morgan Mahalik and Jeff Lockie are ready to step right in.
Vernon Adams is a fairly local talented phenom who just graduated
from EWU and became eligible to play immediately because EWU is
an FCS school. Helfrich just wanted him because he is very talented
and from the Northwest.

You left out true freshman Travis Waller who might be the best of the 3, he will be enrolling early so he will be able to compete in spring practices.

You really take this recruiting BS you read way to serious since you have zero idea what actually happens with players, schools etc.

Pity how this vol fan has been left with no choice but to live in a world where "maybe" is all there is.

meh. Rivals says prostyle. Lockie has 9 carries for 32 yarfd vs 41 passes in his career mostly in mop up duty when 90% of plays are runs...he's no dual threat.

And...their offer lists? What's you half ass excuse why nobody recruited them?

You and RedEye have both made this same post about 6 times in the past week. I don't understand why you keep repeating it.

You claim both qb were highly recruited but no big time schools offered either. Can you explain how this makes them highly recruited? Technically I guess one can be highly recruited by San Diego St,Cincinnati, and Vanderbilt...

Your avatar suits you. Will Lyles made a big racket that turned out to mean nothing just like your team and yourself.

not exactly sure why you keep posting in this thread...wouldn't a Vol thread be better suited for yourself ?
