Chief the two Corey's, Fisher and Stokes are much better 3 point shooters than Clark. Clark is more of a stat sheet filler. But i totally agree here with your analysis.

Nova posses at all times on the court 5 guys who can guard any position on the floor. They switch on every screen and their athleticism and length allows them to get in their opponents jersey when defending.

That American game was a big scare for them and most certainly woke them up for their match up with UCLA as we all saw what happen. I believe that momentum will carry over into this game and Nova will play with that toughness they possess.

As far as the coaching match up goes, Coach K obviously has more credentials to boast about then Jay Wright but do not let that fool you. Jay Wright is one hell of a coach and is for damn sure elevating himself to the elite level of coaches. This is Nova's 4th straight run to the sweet 16 so most of these kids have been there done this. I was watching an interview with Jay Wright on Monday and he mentioned how in previous years the kids were elated in making the Sweet 16, but this year is different. This is basically the same team as last year so to them making the sweet 16 is great but they want more. He also mentioned how 4 of the players on Duke were strongly recruited by Nova but all chose Duke in the end. Henderson played high school ball 5 minutes away from Nova and is great family friends with Wright so you could have imagined how he felt when Henderson chose Duke over Nova. I would imagine he would love nothing more than to get the final laugh in Thursday game.

All this stuff may be meaningless but just some info that I believe is factoring into Nova's physche before heading into this game. I just strongly believe Villanova will be very well prepared and will come out with the same emotion and toughness that they possessed last game.

Lousiville is 10x better than Duke.

Please. Siena scared the hell out of them last round. UCONN manhandled the Cards in Freedom Hall. The Cards aren't that great. The gap between Duke and UL is very small.

You keep mentioning all of these match ups from the regular season. Talking about Nova and Louisville in the Big East Tourney and now UConn and Louisville. You can not get a good read when you start comparing teams in this fashion. The situations were totally different then with momentum and whether teams were coming off a loss or on a slide. You just can not compare teams like that. Also it is all about the match ups. Their is going to be teams who just clearly match up better against one team than another.

If Nova is allowed by the refs to play as physical against Duke as they did against UCLA then Nova rolls DUke hard. NOva can match DUke's outside shooting yet absoluteyl eat duke up on the inside. Way too physical in the post for DUke to handle.

I'm leaning towards Sracuse in the OU game. Beheim will find a way to limit Griffen's effectiveness with the ZOne. At the least I think he throws OU's guards way off with the Zone and forces Griffin to beat them by himself which I can't see him doing. Cuse has the bodies inside to bang with Griffin and make him uncomfortable at the least.

I'm thinking pretty much the same thing. Although I think Griffin will still get his points inside..The problem for OU is Syracuse has more playmakers than the Sooners are used to dealing with. . And if there is a weakness on the OU team it has at times been their defensive play. If OU's sensational freshman guard Willie Warren can play back to his midseason form and have a big game, then the Sooners have a decent chance. I'm just not that confident that he can do it on a big stage like this.

The only good road win that OU has had was Purdue very early in the year. quote]

This was neutral site victory in Ot at MSG. I believe they shot about 40 more FTs than Purdue in the game.

Syracuse wins the game and here is why:

Griffin is the best player on the floor (Flynn is a stud), but not by as much as most want to believe. He will go against a player in Onaku, who will be able physically bang with him. Griffin has a huge athletic advantage, but he will have to be careful with silly fouls on rebounding opportunties. Willie Warren is a very good player, but has not played to his potential over the past 10 games or so. So unless he steps, that puts tremendous pressure on Austin Johnson and Tony Crocker and Cade Davis. They will need to knock down shots against the zone to allow Griffin room inside or expect SU double inside putting pressure on the shooters. Taylor Griffin will be guarded by eitherRick Jackson and Ongenant, that match will be about even as they will void Taylor out on the offensive end.

Johnny flynn against Austin Johnson will provide a huge edge to the SU offense, also Andy Rautins has been on a tear in his last 8 games knocking down 32 out of 76 3s. He has helped open the lanes for Flynn as defenses can't sag in the paint and prevent dribble penetration. Devendorf could score 20 or 0, just depends on which devendorf shows up. Paul Harris has been missing in action on the offense and I think he plays a very good game as he is matched up against either Warren or Crocker, probably crocker.

I think SU wins this game in what might be the best game of the 8 on Thrs/Fri.

and how do Duke's losses play into your equation? Does the fact that they lost to a team that lost to Harvard mean anything?

Nova is more athletic, stronger & quicker and can take away Duke's three point game. I like that in a team.

Oops that was a typo with Clark shooting 3s:ohno:

And let's not forget, Coach K might be a great coach, but as far as straight up coaching goes, he gets more credit simply because he's been around so long. If Jay Wright sticks around for 30 years he'll get similar love.
