Draftkings Rule Change Really Sucks

I'm a low stakes FD player and i like that "lock" rule once tipoff starts (usually 7pm). The last thing i wanna do is look at my phone frantically until 1030pm to see if anyone is out of the starting lineup.

The brain needs a rest in the evenings and not worth overthinking for a few bucks.

However, i hate that FD wont let you see other people's lineups or % of ownership until that player's game has tipped off. I'm always curious to see who my opponents are playing and if i "missed the boat" on anyone

I'm not boasting but i was pretty darn good at DFS but just lost interest over time.

As for locking lineupa & not being able to change them anymore, i have mixed opinions.

Yes sometimes it's going to hurt you, but other times it will benefit you while hurting your competition.

What I don't get is, if all lineups are locked, why don't they show every player that people have ?. Why is it a secret until that game starts.

Maybe because if you can see who the pros have......then you you can play in one of the late contests using some of their preferred players. That's just a guess on my part.

They need to change the lineup lock thing......it's the worst part of playing there.

Because people playing in other non locked games can use that info to their advantage for filling out non locked games

i realize this is a " draft kings " thread, but fan duel has also been mentioned. i actually meant fan duel. there are no non locked games on that site. at least i've never seen one, yet the lineups are still hidden until that particular game starts. don't get it.. i don't see it as an advantage , if you are playing in another contest all together.

Yes, but FD almost always offers different slates. So I am fairly certain that if I were playing their main slate, I'd be able to look at others lineups. I could then take that information and potentially use it to my benefit if I were then to enter a slate that hasn't started yet. That is the only reason I can think of why they don't show your entire opponent's lineups until all the games in that slate have tipped off.

They always say it's a skill game? Or is it just a hobby.

The reason they give is that it's so people can watch the games and not be glued to social media. That really makes no sense.

Why dont football lineups lock at 1pm? You can still change 4pm players in your lineup.

I know what you said before......I think in the end....it cost players money and it's a really terrible change.
It's a terrible change - if you want to be a slave to your phone all night. Who wants to check updates when games start at 7, 7:30, 8, 9, 10, and 10:30 for NBA? At least the NFL is basically 1 and 4. They have nothing if the rec players quit playing. Without them, it would be like online poker.

Everybody is a slave to their phone anyway. Call me crazy but if I invest money in something......I like a chance of return. If lineups lock and you have a 10:30 scratch......you have no chance. It's like throwing money into a fireplace

I said on a previous post that i like this rule. However last nite, lineup lock was at 7pm. Finds out Avery Bradley was scratched at 7:10 and i take a big fat 0 on all 3 of my games (which he had low % owned and i was out of the $$ in all 3 contests anywhere from 19-25 pts). Ugh

Yep.....clearly it's a horrible rule. Hopefully they change it

The 2nd half of the season has a lot more scratches due to injury, rest, teams tanking so its possible that there could be more backlash to the rule. Especially since the 2nd half has more serious players since the people who casually played during football season don't play as much.
