But he could and that's my point. This is far from over but guys are coming in here like he's the second coming of Johnny Utah or something.

Philli is #30 in passing offense.
#28 in total offense.
#31 in 3rd Down Conversions.

It is what it is. Watch him beat up on Chicago on Monday night and he's a great QB. We'll see. Minny is going to tear his but hole up.

I believe those rankings you reference for passing and total offense are based on total yards, not yards per game, and are distorted because the Eagles already had the bye week. Agreed, the numbers aren't spectacular, but not accurate as listed above.

Fair enough.

Phili is #21 in YPG.

And a bye should have an impact on 3rd Down conversion %.

Agreed. I've been pleasantly surprised by his performance and composure this early in his career, but am not ready to set any sort of expectations based on such a limited sampling of games.

Enfuego,

here is the problem

right now you are acting very luke warm about your opinion on him

but that's NOT how you started this thread. you said he will set a team back 7 years, that's he's a bust, garbage, going to blow etc. all of those are your exact words

so you've changed your tune completely. which would be fine if you just admited you were wrong. but you won't do that. It doesn't work both ways. he can't suck and be such a monumental bust that he sets a franchise back almost a decade. and at same time be pleasantly surprised with him but not quite ready to call him good yet.

I know you're intelligent enough to get that. just maybe too hard headed

Here's my position very clearly:

1) I thought pre-draft Wentz would be a bust.

2) He has surprised me with his performance thus far.

3) It's too early and too small of a sample size of games to determine if he'll be great, good or shitty.

4) The stats so far indicate he hasn't played as great as some posters think he's played.

5) Him being good would be good for the NFL and Philly football.

6) I never said (as Chop inaccurately has said numerous times) that any poster's opinion on this matter was ridiculous. He's full of shit.

The Eagles have stumbled to 5-7 and last in the NFC East – with Wentz being a part of those struggles. During that 3-0 start, Wentz threw five touchdowns and no interceptions. In the 2-7 stretch that has ensued, Wentz’s touchdown-to-interception ratio has been 7-to-11. While the mistakes and losses have come from a variety of issues, the work needed for Wentz has been showcased in some of his individual miscues.

We have a long way to go with this young man but as of today, he blows and the Eagles were better off not giving up the farm for him.

Got a lot of guys in this thread that may be "cold taked" when it's all said and done.

It's early though. I'm pulling for the kid.

Huh? He can make all the NFL throws. NFL body, arm and brain. He's got all garbage around him....including a horrific coach.

Once they get some free agents at skill positions.....they will win.

Jay Cutler, Assweiler and others can make the throws, have NFL bodies and arms too.

Cmon man.....watch the guy play.

Jay Cutler is a mental case. Brock is not football smart at all

wentz is solid as they get for a young qb. It's amazing they score at all with that horrific group of wide outs. He good now and will only get better

Hopefully the eagles get some NFL wide receivers( none currently on the roster) and hire a non idiot as coach. Then you will see how good Wentz is.....the signs are all there. He's got all the tools but needs help.

Is it clear to you guys Wentz hasn't had a good rookie season and isn't progressing?

Guess we'll see when he has some more weapons.
