Venturing into the basement for the first time to answer this question.

EHORSE.COM is what I use, very easy to use, rebate program and software is great IMO.

BTW thanks for the selections.

Thanks for the heads up and maybe we will bump into each other at WO

I dont go out to Woodbine that often(my laptop fried and I gotta have my data) but since you are an owner(i read the horse forum with great interest)two heads are better than one!

DickyW,who is an institution down here, mentioned he is coming out late July--get the owners box spruced up and the first couple of rounds are on me!!

EarlySpeed,

I don't know jackshit about horse racing or bet on horses, but I have heard that Carib has a very nice rebate program. I believe it was 5% at one time and maybe it is now 3% or something. If you want more details, I will look into it and I will find out and email you the details. Where are you from EarlySpeed?

teddy--naw,I aint goin anywhere

altice-Toronto--the land of Sars / email addy canuck_steve@yahoo.com

Tekari--thanks--i checked e horse and it is like Betfair(an exchange) You can make better than the track odds but have to be like a stock market trader and get in on it when the price is right--it is actually a pretty cool way to bet

Early..good to hear that your a fellow Torontian, drop me a line when your heading to Woodbine and I'll buy a few rounds. I'm usually on the 2nd floor West End. I've got Kevin Attard as the stable trainer, he's a good guy and will be getting better and bigger at Woodbine in the next few years so I figured it would be good to build a foundation early.

Tekari--not yet,still looking

Today was one of those days I'll chalk up to as a "regression to the mean" day. It is also a reminder that this is a tough and humbling game.Today with a little common sense I avoided getting my ass TOTALLY handed to me.

Arlington Park - June 11th, 2003 - Race 1
Estimated Local Post Time: 1:30 PM

4 Yaffa (IL)

Horse went off at a nice 5-1 and led to the 3/4 pole then hit quicksand-- but at least I had a little hard on for about a minute and a half. Heres the chart line on this mutt-
----------------------------------------

YAFFA set the pace from just outside while pressed and tired.

------------------------------------------
Churchill Downs - June 11th, 2003 - Race 3
Estimated Local Post Time: 2:21 PM

2 May Gator (KY)

Great--a four horse race in the mud after scratches. My pig was 8/5 and because of the surface switch from turh to mud bet small on the beak. It came second.
-------------------------------------------------
MAY GATOR settled near the inside early, moved four wide on the backstretch, advanced with the winner while outside that one on the far turn, stuck a head in front briefly between calls in the upper stretch, then couldn't match strides with DESERT GOLD late

7 Desert Gold 4.00 2.20
2 May Gator 2.20
6 Southern Surprise
.

Woodbine - June 11th, 2003 - Race 1
Estimated Local Post Time: 6:45 PM

5 Silver Pit (KY)

This pig was totally ignored at the windows and that is a bad sign when betting these kinds of mules.I think the highest price I have seen is $17--this dog was going of at 11-1.A bad trip meant it had zero shot
---------------------------------------------------
Silver Pit: bumped, steadied, start, stalked forced pace off rail
---------------------------------------------------

Lone Star Park - June 11th, 2003 - Race 1
Estimated Local Post Time: 6:35 PM

5 Na Hila (KY)

Heres the trouble line which pretty well sums up the day
-------------------------------------------------
Na Hila: bmpd hard leaving chute, tracked, inched clear 1/8,no match
------------------------------------------------
Well, at least it came in second

7 Humble Lightning 16.40 4.60 3.40
5 Na Hila 2.80 3.00
4 Devious Darren 13.60

G.MONEY

You must be an experienced player--I used to bet my buddys "switches" when he was going bad and made money.
I did some more testing after the horse--to my horror--came in and found that my original reservations about playing him were unfounded(this mule was a statebred which threw me off)
Glad you cashed...I didn't

The race was also on the slop--and this is another part of these plays where my original concerns about slop are unfounded--slop doesnt matter to these kinds of doggies
