When I first started betting, I was careless with my bankroll and often had huge wins but huge losses as well. I eventually smartened up and became more conservative with my money.

I believe if everyone stops gambling so loosely, they'll have more money and actually enjoy their bets more. Just my 2 cents.

i feel ya, but life is just to boring for me without wagering, i guess im just one of those people born with a miserable existence and dont get excited by most things that would excite most people, what u want to talk to me about bowling, about what movie your saw, about some gossip, sorry but i live to cover the spread and somehow prove to all the squares with 9to 5s that i can make my money this way, rationaly proportionalizing your bets is a big part of betting that most people understand, i am glad your at peace with yourself and wish u all the luck in the future, good post

DUDE YOUR IN AUSTIN..GO TO DALLAS THEY HAVE THE HOTTEST WOMEN IN AMERICA AND TONS OF CLUBS AND IF THAT DOESN'T EXCITE YOU....AND YOU RATHER GAMBLE

i just like to gamble. i have never never lost a lot of money. i dont think you should have to be a ton to enjoy it. now some people do it as their sole source of income. thats a tough way to make a living, but so is the army or working on an oil rig. you cant change people thats for sure. some people are just born to do this others are not. if you cant handle the swings you do have walk away.

the problem with gambling is alot of people cant handle it. few people have that self discipline. a lot of people take it to far.

the main basis of my post is, if you say your going to quit, quit. don't rationalize out of it saying i'll get the man tomorrow because its stupid and never works. don't think you can get them back. walk away and dont look back.

I have been wagering on sports since before most of you men were born. I have the funds and consider it as entertainment. From observing this forum for years, the number ONE trap that I see a lot of cappers fall into is that they BET WAY TOO MANY PIECES.... PERIOD. When you go down, you will go down like a ton of bricks. Do your homework and pick your spots. Anyone who betting many games over a short period of time will only pay for your BM's kids braces and college tuition. Bookies love people who "bet the board" knowing that they will NEVER beat him in the long run. Just some advice from an old Marine who has seen it all.

right on LTD

I'm amazed at the amount of people keeping their record that are like 42-28-2 after 5 weeks of football. If you're betting 15 games/week you're in trouble in the long run ... or playing with fake money.

everything you're saying isn't recent news. Its not extreme insight. its obvious truths.

you're problem? you're audience. most of these kids are uneducated, chase-filled gamblers who dont give 2 shits about your rant/advice. They are idiots that are going to continue to lose their money but at the same time experience the rush that comes from placing a bet and sweating out the game. THats what many people are in it for, that feeling you cant make artificially.

it's comparable to drugs, but stronger.

gtc, i respect your view... but we have ours too--it's just how you wanna live your life. You took the safe way, which might be the better way but some of us are willing to lose it all sometimes and we do... but that's what we do. That's what suicide bombers do, that what the taliban do, and that's what suicidal gamblers do--it's a part of life.

However, the game is SETUP for you to lose but only cuz of the juice. Otherwise, it's still a 50/50 and nobody is forcing you to do it. See sometimes when someone bets me I force them into a disadvantage.

IE: They wanted to bet $1000 today but I said $500 is the max. They begged. I said OK... then you can either have SAINTS -7 or VIKES -1. NOW THAT is a setup lol.

I have been doing this for a long time and have taken a number of breaks from betting. A few times it was a forced retirement because of chasing or getting in over my head. A couple of times it was just burnout (similar to the stresses GTC mentioned).

Personally, I like the action. I can afford the losses I may incur, and I am now (FINALLY) mature enough to bet within comfortabe limits. No more 5 dime haftime plays for me.

I also learned there is NO system that guarantees easy money. That is my only piece of advice for the younger posters and lurkers. Believe me, I have tried almost every angle. Don't just blindly fade the public, or some other foolproof systems or trends. Learn to handicap the game yourself. You feel a lot better when you pick a winner. If you blindly follow or fade the plays of others, I think you end up dreading losing more than you enjoy winning. It's more of a relief than a rush afterwards which was not as much fun for me.

A question for everyone who will continue to bet: isn't it amazing how much money you can find when you need to cover losses to get back into The Game?

For me personally i never have a problem just betting 20 bucks a game, 50 if i love a game. I still get my action fix and if i lose for the week im not losing sleep or wondering how im going to pay bills. works perfect for me.

Thanks for sharing...

Thanks for posting. I myself and small time, but i only play my winnings. I put in $75 at the start of the season, ive gotten to about $270, now im back down to $160. I guess my goal is about $500. One season i started with $50 and reached $1250 in like 2-3 weeks. But no matter how big or small you start with(whatever u can afford) just bet your winnings and dont reup. Its still fun for me.

Hey dude this is a gamblers forum. We are not here to get a Gambler's Anonymous lecture. I also will never take advice from someone with an avatar of a murdering communist piece of garbage. That ****** got what was coming to him, a bullet filled body.
