I've seen this happen so many times in corporations/companies.
You go to work somewhere that was/is a pioneer of a service or product etc.
You work there and receive confidential and/or important company survival/operational information.
You now split ways and decide to use that /those same info your own financial growth.
No one was held hostage or at gun point to sign up for this service, they were the first, and later grew, and with growth so do your expenses, liabilities, etc, etc. And as far as I know, DB is a much, much larger service than any of the johnny come latelies. They of course can afford to charge a much lower premium than DB. Just wait until they too grow.

This kinda reminds me of when they were telling Bill Gates he was making too much money and tried to stop him.
Go invent your own shit, and DB if you're falling behind in some services, get some people on it, and fix it.
Oh, thats why sportsbooks and othe companies have you sign agreements etc that 2years etc you cant compete or work at a competitor etc etc etc.
