Houston chronicle reporting Phins talks intensifying for Watson, makes sense given his age and all the draft capital they have

It is debatable how good watson is but he would clearly be best Phins QB of the 21st century

Sounds like a couple of hookers who like to be abused would do the trick.

How could anyone be thinking of adding Watson 'till all this crap is cleared up?

Is the league even going to let him play?

I would think the picks are conditional based on some type of eligibility ruling, but I doubt Dolphins care if he can't play this year since their season is looking pretty wrapped up anyway.

maybe the fins activate him now so the nfl could suspend him this season instead of next?

fins have the 49ers 1st round picks in 22 and 23
they have their own 1st rd pick in 2023

i could see then get rid of Tua, X Howard (from Texas) and some of those 1st picks in a 3 or 4 team trade.

do I want this to happen? I don’t know.

I am not ready to give up on Tua and his rookie contract

Yeah still premature. But not sure if the Dolphin org. will be patient with him past this year if he plays just OK.

I would trade Tua in a heartbeat for Watson if I had any sort of insight into his legal situation. It would have to be highly contingent and it's beyond risky leveraging the future on someone who may never play again.

Id consider your own mortality a bit, you may be dead by the time the Dolphins are contenders if they don’t take the risk on shelling out for Watson

I hear ya.

Seems like the trend on winning a superbowl is either 1) Have a QB on a rookie contract so you can spend $$ elsewhere or 2) Have Tom Brady as your QB

If they trade Watson, then they have to absorb his contract.

I'm being pretty stubborn about the QB on the rookie contract. I'm also the guy who plays fantasy football and doesnt want to cut a guy drafted in the first few rounds only b/c he was drafted so high

Dolphins don’t have their first round pick next year so they aren’t tanking

Good catch. That's what this site is about. Somebody might factor that into their wagers. That Miami might be tanking.
