The dealer flips over an ace with her 6 for a 17, and I almost start crying right there on the spot until I realized dealers hit soft 17's. She does and gets a 9 to give her 16, then busts with a king. The whole table erupts. I tipped the dealer one of my green chips and got the hell out of there. I'm wondering if I should ever play again since winning $600 in about four minutes never be topped...ever.
It was a great-told story about your wife & your hurrah BJ hands.

Yeah, the odds are stacked against you to get 2 consecutive hands like this in one shot with this situation:

Dealer: 5x (gets 20)
Wife: 74 DD T

Dealer: 6x
You: 85, 87, 83 DD A
Dealer then gets Ace for S17 but you guys in LV; so 6A, 9, K for a nice bust

If $600 was 60% of your budget ($1K total of wagering bankroll), then that's a amazing feat that you guys lucked out on! Congrats!

Nope. My wife has absolutely no interest in gambling but has always been very supportive in my way of life. I'm very blessed to have her and she is blessed with a degenerate. :):)

Yes

She is very good with the ponies but can't pick a winner to save her life with football.

Tell me about it.

I think we took $700 apiece that weekend and were probably down $250 or so between the two of us going into the last hurrah, so yeah...it was a huge chunk. Obviously, we never intended to risk that much on two hands...but the situation just turned out that way.

The table we picked was full of older guys who looked and dressed like they were there for a convention. There was only one spot open at that table (next to first base), so she just stood behind it and went first, then I went after her. They all cheered when she hit her double down, and even the insanely hot dealer laughed with the rest of the guys when I announced "and she knows how to cook, too!"

As for my wife, she hasn't learned much about many different stuff that is part of gambling. I haven't really gotten chance to teach her much, although it would be great if she can spot great lines to bet on during the day when I'm at work. She does want to learn about poker, and we have played some games so far but still in elementary stage, ha.

She is pregnant with twins so she is not working at this time, and if nothing else was going on with our lives, she would have a lot of time to learn and help me do sportsbetting and/or invest in the stock market. She even says sometimes that "I wish I already know some of the stuff so I can make bets for you when you are too busy". It's great to know when the wife says something like that. :103631605
