ESPN is acting like Ohio St. is a lock, and Washington is on the bubble with Michigan and Penn St. That is corrupt bullshit.

No fucking way the Big 10 deserves two spots.

I have to turn the channel now, as listening to this will drive me crazy.

The Big 10 is the best conference this season.

If you want the 4 best teams USC should be in at 9-3. They demolished Washington on the road and also won 8 straight

Somebody is getting "screwed". The one the rocks the boat the least is OSU. I think more people than not would agree the Big Ten is this years best conference. The winner of the best conference doesnt get into the playoff? I hate penn st as much as the next guy, but its the right thing.

If that's correct its just by coincidence. Winning a conference title is not part of the criteria

Only 3 teams have even ever played for a title after not winning a conference. It is most definately not coincidence.

The playoffs have nothing to do with getting the best 4 teams. Its about ratings. Period. They will do whatever they can to manipulate the matchups to get maximum ratings.

If you go strictly by the rankings, nothing should change.....unless you replace OSU with PSU. Washington is #4. They stomped the team ranked #8. Penn St was ranked below them, and beat a comparably ranked team in a close game. What happened this weekend that would make you drop Washington? Don't give me some BS about schedule strength. If that was an issue, they would have been ranked lower before this week. Their schedule didn't change this week, if they were to be punished for a weak OOC schedule then it would have happened already.

The NCAAB committee puts emphasis on how a team performs in their last 10 games, approx the last 1/3 of the season. Why wouldn't the NCAAF committee do the same? I hear about how Penn St got whipped by Michigan. That was Game 4 in September, they are a completely different team now. Michigan lost to Iowa, PSU stomped Iowa. They beat OSU. They beat Temple who is ranked. They stomped Mich St, the same team OSU struggled with.

Michigan has ZERO chance at the playoffs. NONE.

Let's look at OSUs schedule. They beat Oklahoma, but geezus the committee is treating this as if they beat the Miami Hurricanes from 25 years ago. Its Oklahoma, a solid team but good grief Houston beat the shit out of them too.

Common Opponents:
Rutgers: OSU 58-0, PSU 39-0
Indiana: OSU 38-17, PSU 45-31
Maryland: OSU 62-3, PSU 38-14
Mich St: OSU 17-16, PSU 45-12
Michigan: OSU 30-27, PSU 10-49

The Michigan game sticks out, and it happened in game 4. The reverse happened with Mich St, OSU almost lost while PSU smoked them. These games are a wash.

Did I mention Penn St BEAT Ohio St??

So we have a team that won the conference championship, beat them Head to Head, have the same record against common opponents with each blowing out a team that the other didn't.

The ONLY thing OSU has is this mysterious "better" schedule and 1 less loss. Oklahoma, Tulsa, and Bowling Green. Penn St played Kent, Pitt, and Temple. Collectively, I can make a case that Penn ST played an equal OOC schedule as Ohio St. Tulsa and Bowling Green are dogshit defensive teams. Oklahoma is no great shakes either. Temple can play some defense, and while Pitt gives up lot that offense can score. Kent and BG are 2 bad MAC teams.

The Top 4 should be Alabama, Clemson, Washington, Penn St. There is no way Michigan should even sniff the Top 4, and Ohio St has benefitted by the propaganda machine that is ESPN. THEY want OSU strictly for ratings.

My prediction? Washington drops, Penn St gets the last spot, and Ohio St will get an underserved spot at #2/#3.

What an embarrassing charade. I can't wait to hear the pure unadulterated bullshit that comes out of the collective mouths of these asshole committee members. I would rather have the BCS rankings. At least those were transparent. These rankings?? Its whatever these fucks decide they should be. Fuck Ohio St and Urban Meyer, I hope those pricks lose.

I understand they have 2 losses compared to one but how can you reward Ohio State for having 1 less loss when they not only failed to win their conference much less a division within it & lost to the team that actually won a division & overall conference title.

Agreed, this makes no sense. I understand some teams like Bama did not win their division and still won a national title. Don't have a problem with it because they played the division winner LSU in the title game.

Same here, have no problem with OSU in the playoff as long as PSU is in it also. To exempt PSU at this point is ridiculous. But the committee is put together to make the most money not pick the most deserving teams.

Like the NCAA BBall tourney, every P5 team should have a chance to earn it on the field so there are no excuses. Expand it to 8, 5 p5 conf champs get auto bids, highest ranked non-P5 team and 2 at large bids. Like the NCAA BBall, let the committee decide the 2 at large teams and rankings, that is it. If a team complains they did not make it there is no excuse because they had an opportunity, just win your conference. Right now, there is no opportunity even if you do everything right.

Ohio State didn't play for conference championship. Didn't play today! Fuck Ohio State and Kirk Herbstreit.

Those guys should be out. They aren't conference champs. Get them the fuck out of the top 4.

Five Power 5 Champions, top ranked non-P5 school, 2 at large. Pretty fucking simple. You can use schedule strength to help with the at large schools. Weak schedule? You better win your conference.

1st rd at the home fields of the Top 4.
2nd RD use the existing Bowl game.
Championship Game is just that, I don't give a fuck what bowl gets it, if at all.

If Penn St does not get in then what is the point of having conf Championships. I think Mich is better than Ohio st & Penn st but because they didn't win their conference they should not get in. Now if you put Penn St in what about Oklahoma. They are conference champions??? Any thoughts on Oklahoma

Does not matter. Head to head and strength of schedule is what matters

If head to head matters, then PSU should be in over OSU right?

Also, that Iowa loss is a BAD loss late in the season for UM. Shit, if UM gets in might as well invite North Dakota State who actually beat Iowa at Iowa.

Some excellent points being made here.

I'm going to be pissed if the Huskies don't get in.

Ohio St. gets more favoritism than any team I've ever seen. The refs favored them so much last week against Michigan. That game was rigged.

All playoff teams have won conferences to date, no?

Yes, but the committee lucked out last year that Arky converted a 4th and 25 vs Ole Miss otherwise they would have been in the exact same situation. Ole Miss beat Bama but had a loss in conf and lost to Memphis. Had they beat Arky they most likely would have beat UF in the title game and would have been SEC champs. Would they omit the SEC champs and include Bama or would they have knocked out conf champs OU or MSU in favor of Bama?

All I can say is screw Ohio State and Michigan. They didn't with the conference championship.

Ohio State shouldn't be in the top four now or yesterday or two weeks ago.

Kirky Herby and the boot lickers want the match-ups they want and I bet it doesn't include Washington.

A bunch of rich white men going to gather and come up with the best rated match-ups for tv.
