Patsfan got a fantasy football question for you since you understand draft position value.
I had the 4th pick in my fantasy draft.
And in my honest opinion J Hill is the best back in the draft for our leagues scoring system.
But his ADP was way too low to pick him 4th.
Trading down was basically not an opinion so what do you do in that situation?
Do you reach way too high to grab the guy who you feel is BPA even if you would be picking him 7 to 10'spots higher then normal or do you take the guy that you feel is not going to be as good at his projected slot.
I know In later rounds ADPmis not as important. You can take a player a round or 3 higher later on but it kind of sucks take a guy with the 4th pick that normally goes 10 to 15.
That's why I hate drafts compared to auction since everything is a more "slotted" and you can't really get who you want to get all the time.
I don't know the scoring format of this league but we'll just say you think he is 12th in ADP and you want him 4th. It really depends how high you are on him and your opinion of the guys that you are giving in to taking so to speak. Seems like in most situations you would atleast like 1 of the guys enough to bite the bullet and just take them.
I'd probably guess that like 8 or 9 times out of 10 that I would go with the rankings and take the chalky pick then maybe hope J Hill sucks the first few weeks and try to steal him. Or my guy goes off and J hill just does OK then deal like 4th pick for J hill + X or something.
So I'd probably puss out unless I was really, really bullish on this guy and thought the rest of the free world was out of their minds to have him ranked as the #7 RB instead of #1.
I think in the show "The League" they called this a Rankings Whore or something.
