And Vegas does not hit 100% either when they do take risks......This should be noted...........But the initial high line could be just perception (as Winston is hated by many for stealing crab legs, only thing they've got him on plus Florida State's close calls and poor ATS performance)........On the other hand, it is strange they are making a team this big of an Underdog that has never lost a game with their QB plus they are defending champs........Weird line in general...........That said, when a team has won that many in a row its tough to ask them to turn on a losing switch as they are so used to winning (its all they know)......so I'd be surprised if it was a blowout and would just tip my hat to Vegas for seeing and knowing something that most couldn't see.......

Famous Jameis (all he does is win).........and he is clutch so I don't expect him to just fold and not show up here.

What about ORE at the half? FSU has notoriously started big gms slow & then pulled out win in 2nd half, including in Natl championship last yr.

Love ORE -7 1/2, but FSU has done it over & over again w/the backdoor. I dislike teams that win like that, so hopefully their luck runs out like Bobby predicts. Mariotta a much better role model too, so I'm definitely cheering for him over Winston.

Lines are set to get wagering on both sides.

Public seems to be all over FSU however everytime the line dips big money comes back in on the Ducks. That's what I was told by a friend that works for MGM

I think Oregon is so much better than people realize. I think the public looks at them and they just think ah, another oregon team that runs around with fast little guys and scores a ton.. this team has evolved so much. Their athleticism and size is over looked, imo they are also finally getting a little depth. I would not be surprised if Oregon won by 30 or if FSU takes it to the last second. I think FSU is a little under valued because of how they have won games this year. 2 great teams, will be a good one..

FWIW, I have Oregon as my strongest play this bowl season. In handicapping the game, the turnovers from FSU and the fact that they had trouble with both NC State and Ga Tech made me unload on Oregon. Just my 2 cents. I also liked TCU quite a bit but I liked the Frogs all year.

Starting to think you re the smartest guy in the room.

WinOne usually knows his stuff...
Way too much credit. It just seemed odd for a line like this for the defending NC Team that is still undefeated. FSU gets a lot of public money because they are a name team so when Vegas sets a line like that, it seems fishy or they are trying to week out 1 side. Heck, I might be eating Whataburger for a week after this game...LOL!!!

at least if Oregon somehow wins today then we might finally get the Alabama-Oregon matchup everybody on the planet has been waiting on forever.....Just love the 4-Team Playoff format.....Great stuff......I wouldn't add anymore...........TCU had a low perception to start the season (which didn't help as they fell off since Redhead left for a few years)....Baylor still has the perception of can't play with best of the best yet)....Did TCU and Baylor get punished for lack of tradition? Yes........But both play in a Conference without a Championship Game and that also hurt them both whether fair or not.....However, I have no problem with these 4 teams in the Playoff......Better than 2....

I'm 50/50 on 8 teams......eliminate conference championship games.....problem is if you leave a conference out of the playoff how do you know for sure if you have the right representation... Big 12 is a good example this year

I'd be in favor of 8 if we took the 5 conference champions and then the next best 3 team as atlarge. Play the first round of the playoffs at home field so the fans can participate and be there. Then do the rotation that they currenly have. I'd play the first set of games week after Army-Navy, then two weeks later is Jan 1. Then play championship 2 weeks after that

This year we'd have

Bama - Mich St
Oregon - Miss St
Fla ST - TCU
Ohio St - Baylor

I think committee would have seated them differently as I do believe there is some funny business that takes place behind closed doors. They may have left TCU in the 3 hole under this scenario

This is crazy...no one seems to like the ducks here...and its starting to make me think that today the luck runs for the noles.

When they faced auburn last year, they struggled defending the spread and that was against a qb whom couldn t throw. They struggled against the run this year. This is not a great defense.

Really starting to like the ducks here.

I'm sure a lot of people do....Including myself.

Someone tell me what FSU's signature win is this season? They don't have any impressive wins...Georgia Tech is borderline at best.

Their habit of slow starts would be huge trouble for them today. Oregon won't be as forgiving in allowing them back into the game as their other opponents were. I'm also taking a close look at Oregon -4.5 or the 1H.

Ifo Ekpre-Olomu was Oregon's best DB. I'm always concerned when teams lose their best cover guy...I remember reading a thesis a few years ago written by some math geek which said a team losing its starting cornerback is usually worth about seven expected points in favor of their opponent. Sounds about right.

I just don't think FSU is nearly as good as their record would indicate. They were definitely very fortunate to win several of the games they did. Too many people are looking at this game and thinking it looks too easy...how can you give an undefeated team that many points? I'm a little worried about a backdoor cover, so I'm not unloading. Just a mid-size play for me.
