I, too, am pretty upset with Scott's decision. As all of you knew I like those guys there and think they mean well and are trying hard, but it seems like they make the wrong decision sometimes.

If BHB had 10 cent lines in baseball and offered some props, with their Customer Service, theyd be a top notch book. Sponsoring a great contest would only facilitate them in their goal of attracting new customers, as we would be taking their lines and talking about their book on a daily basis. I think the baseball season killed BHB (maybe a nail in the coffin). Instead of attracting customers daily (as there are games every day), people looked elsewhere and found perhaps better alternatives (Pinnacle, Bluegrass .. 10 cent line shops). And now those people who found books elsewhere are staying at those books for Foots and probably Bball as well.

Sad when you think where BHB could have been in elite group of sportsbooks.

Does it matter what book I am with? We have been around for over 4- years. We are not well known to many sharps, because we dont cater to that type of customer. We are 99% internet based, and we discourage the use of the phone.

I would have no problem sponsoring this contest, matter of fact I would like to. I just need to get the particulars on exactly what you would need from me(time, lines, grading,etc..), and how, if at all will our book benefit.

Understand, its not that I won't give you our books name, I just want to make sure I want to sponsor this, before I put our URL in this thread. I hope you understand.

Sponge,

A. I will grade the contest and take care of the standings and posting the lines, etc. So there is really no time commitment on your part, just mine.

B. We will use your football lines if you plan on sponsoring.

C. All we need from you is what youd be willing to offer as seasonal and weekly prizes.

D. I assume your book would benefit as most books here do when they sponsor a contest, by the PR our contest would bring. People will see your book in our thread everytime we discuss the contest and will go to your site and see what your book has to offer. The better the prizes and contest, the more attention your book will receive.

Any other questions?

Madcapper

I just read through the rules for the BHB contest and do not see anywhere that the contest will be cancelled by BHB if there are not 100 participants.

Just one reference to (we plan to have over 100), nothing about cancellation if not achieved.

This kinda chaps my ass cause I was looking forward to this contest. I also passed on several other contests due to limited time available.

Looks to me like BHB is leaving us twisting in the wind! I have been a big supporter of this book but must say they need to re-think their position on this matter.

I assure you they will have 30 account holders pissed at them. No telling how many others (jjgold, etc.) that will pile on.

Come on, BHB, do the stand-up thing here. Work out something with Madcapper so the show can go on!

Hey guys let's not get excited and turn something positive into a negative. BHB has been very generous since they've been here. The ROLEX they gave away at the party was a beautiful watch as well. If there was an agreement to have 100 players than they reserve the right to pull out. Actually though we may not like it they reserve the right to pull out for any reason at all. Focus on getting someone else rather than trying to harp on BHB if you don't mind. That's not helping matters.

If anyone is serious about sponsoring this send an e-mail to the General and we will work it out. I know you are committed to this Madcapper but I don't want to make a bad name for BHB in what was a nice gesture to begin with. I hope you undersand, I love the passion you bring but don't want our posters to rip these people out here over a contest. Thank you sir.

I respect the fact that it's your job (I guess) to protect these people. Surely you must agree, however, it should have been clearly stated that the contest would be canceled unless there were 100 contestants.

After all, over 30 forum members have posted up with the expectation of participating in this contest.

As for BHB, I agree they have been generous with their contests and prizes. For their generosity, they have recieved much goodwill, new customers and kept their name out there.

This particular move will result in a debit of some of the goodwill credit they have achieved.

Last questions.

What amounts are you going to set up for prizes?

do people have to deposit and play at my book to be entered into the contest?

If so, how much and is there a turnover requirement?

I read the above...where I will not be obligated to do much if any of the work....and that helps alot.

What I need now is an explaination of the rules, prizes, cost of entry, min.number of players....etc....

Thanks

P.S. If everything seems ok...we WILL sponsor

I would have preferred they keep their Rolex and stand up for what they said they would do. Even though BTJ said it, you have to wonder if this is really a lot of money to them.

In no way do I mean to sound unappreciative of what BHB has done in the past. I have enjoyed playing there and have recommended them numerous times! Heck, I first joined them because of a contest!!

I just don't understand what these boys expect to gain by saving a little dough and pissing away hard-earned goodwill.

Well I of course am not runnign this contest, but I will ttell you what I think Sponge.

Until you at least email madcapper with your books name, then we might as well not even discuss it further. We are really only looking for a book that advertises here that wants to sponser the contest.

By not stating at least in email form what book you represent, then this is a moot point. Because if it is a small book, then NO ONE WILL SIGN UP anyway and pay the post up fee

BHB has done some nice things but walking out of the contest is wrong. My Dad always told me that one "oh shit" wipes out ten "thata boys".

Well they still have a shot here, we just need to lower the prizes. Why did they not offer this option?

I assume because they are rally strapped for cash right now. Maybe they agreed to the contest so early so as to increase funds during the baseball season, well it worked for them.

Oh yes and BEANBUM, a 10x rollover doesnt mean shit. People will still win money by completing a 10x rollover. Not everyone will, but quite a few players will be able to withdraw something.

Think about it, NO ONE talks about bhbookie anymore. This contest would be great for them since their name would be mentioned EVERYDAY on the forums.

But then again, I really dont want to use this book in ANY contest for fear that there will be NO PRIZES at the end of the football season!

They would really suck for the person who stands to win $5000, and then gets nothing. Now alot of people would say, we just get your post up back and you are fine. BULLSHIT, post up was $50

Myself & Ken have spoken with Sponge this afternoon. Sponge is 100% legit and we discussed the possibility of repairing this situation, but at the same time, we will try to keep BHB as the sponsor of this contest.

The details should be ironed out tomorrow.

Bottom line... I think we will have a King of the Hill contest whether 10 players or 100 players.

Keep the faith.
