Doubt Miami or Jets will be much of a threat over the next couple years...:think2:

Is he good for 2-3 more years then shut it down???

Buff and Miami will challenge this year.

Belly ain't shutting anything down anytime soon. And he's hardly the same coach he was in Cleveland. Some people grow from failure. Belly is clearly one of them.

But he's got a BIG job here.

This offense IS challenged.

The Defense may have the best backside in the NFL. But they lost some key linebackers. Not sure about the D line.

Belly would have to be a magician to get this team into the Playoffs.

But it was a typically crazy Belly draft. Like Willy says, you want to tear your hair out. We'll see.

Two rings as a dominant defensive coordinator ain't bad

There's a reason Tuna tried to lock him up

7-9 never happened. 5-11 did though.

Everyone gets at least one year to impose his will on his team

Remember boys, I'm always willing to put my money where my mouth is, talk to me

When was the last time the Browns won a playoff game?

Ask a Browns fan if they wish they kept him :)

Without elite QB play, Belichick will be subject to the same mean regression, variance and fragility that every other great coach throughout the history of the game has dealt with. He's the greatest coach ever IMO, but the results have led people to believe the gap is massive and it probably isn't. He just had Brady for 20 years.

I'd bet under 30 wins next 3 years if I could, well below the 3yr avg of 35 w/ Brady

Ask Chuck Noll how the 80's went, ask Shanny how post-Elway life went, JJ in Miami, etc etc....Coaching is extremely difficult in the NFL when every team basically has = resources. Edge just isn't that big.

Time will tell

I've heard former player after former player say he prepares you better for your opponent than any coach ever

There's something about the Patriot way, it's real

Robert Kraft made his decision, he chose his alliance

Yea. I agree with Willie here. Belly is in a class of his own. Different expectations going forward.

That would obviously be logistically difficult to wager on given the time frame. 3 years is a long damn time, I think that would be the best way to bet how I feel obviously (larger sample, longer I have to be proven correct or incorrect since it is more of a macro statement) but it is a fair offer. Not to mention we would have to iron out bunch of details based on this year alone because football might not play a full season.

Maybe in a few months when there is more clarity we can revisit.....I'm not even dissing BB, I said he's the best, but others are underrating that Brady was his Tim Duncan (or Kawhi in later years) and it ain't as easy to find another 1 as people think.

We've both been here a while, I trust we'll be here a while longer. I'd trust you too, so no post up. We could exchange personal contacts just in case this place blows up, maybe even hook up for a game.

Let me know when the time is right

I have a three year bet with Chop which I get to collect on this year. I win if Belichick is their coach, I can't lose. He's already been there too long for me to lose.

Maybe something like under 7.5 at +225 for this year, on the previous page you seem to think NE going sub .500 is a pretty decent longshot

But all this stuff is just so up in the air right now, I'd rather revisit in a few months.

Off my head I'd say empty stadiums favors NE but I just came up with that theory in the last 20 seconds.

I am giving you any playoff wins for the first two years--- as a sweetener (for the 3 year bet, not yearly)
