completely with you... and cheese wiz is disgusting...

Wiz is what makes the sandwich or at least melted american. I always go whiz when I make them at home. I'm in Florida there is no such thing as a good cheese steak here. Onions and peppers, no mushrooms for me and definitely no mayo, lettuce, or tomatoes. It's not a cold cut sandwich.

This thread is both sacrilegious and blasphemous. I am averting my eyes and leaving the forum for the evening. Good day.

A cheesesteak doesn't have mayo it has sauce and peppers or the tourist places put cheese whiz on it awful. It sounds like you eat what we call a cheesesteak hoagie that has lettuce and tomatoes on it

Proper cheesesteak: steak, onions, peppers, provolone cheese all on a buttered hoagie roll

I've had it with mayo before, but usually the original kind......The ones with mayo were good enough, but the original ones were a lot better without a doubt......However, it depends on where you get them....I remember El Stugoto (I'm sure some remember him here at the RX) told me the place to go in Philly for the best, but it wasn't Geno's or Pat's...It began with the letter D, maybe Dalessandro's, it was something like that..

I looked it up...Somebody else from RX said Dalesssandro's, but El Stugoto said Chubby's is the best in Philly...
