Unfortunately managers almost always leave the starter in too long, even when they have nothing. Oh, and the fact that it's the 5th inning means Torre probably wanted to leave him out there so he could qualify for the W. Don't wanna hurt the pitcher's feelings ya know.

Exactly. That was the only thing that worried me about the game. The line was way too low. Just like the Jays line was way too low yesterday, and sure enough Halladay pitched like crap and they lost.

True let him try to get the W but in the 6th inning with runners on second and 1st with no outs is time to pull your starter I would say.
