They all know, had to sit them down years ago and explain probabilities and odds to them. Given them all winners throughout the years. Helped my sisters through hard times with winners. Mom always asks me for a sport winner when she goes out to Vegas. I grew up next to Santa Anita Race Track, moms in her seventies I take her out to the Track on Sunny days. We've hit plenty of Exactas. Last football season was sitting with my girlfriend watching Monday Night Football, I asked her if she could go to the store for some milk and twinkies her reply, "Are you nuts we have $300 on a 3teamer with 2 winners and New Orl playing at home for the first time. I aint going nowhere." I didn't know she had picked up so much. All this accomplished after years of betting and losing and then learning and winning. If you can't make money gambling don't do it. Simple.

Oh yes, I hate the "how is the gambling going?" question, they always ask it after a big loss, never fails.

"How's the gambling going"

Used to golf once a week with a guy.
On the first tee, for 3 weeks..we went through the same thing.

HIM: "So how's the gambling going"

ME: ..It didn't matter what I said, he had the same reply.

HIM: "Any bad beats?"

ME: "No, not really." (If true or not)

HIM: "I'm sure glad I don't gamble like that."

ME: (on the 3rd week) "And I'm glad for you, I've seen you gamble."

He hasn't brought up gambling since.

Told my wife the day I met her, which was 25 years ago. I share the profits with my whole family when times are good.

I don't mention it much, because I'm a pretty small $ player.

When I start investing larger sums, I'd prefer to keep it on the down low on accounta Anything I Say Could Be Used Against Me In a Court of Law....

That, and I figure that other than my demonstrating really large consistent payouts over several years, no one outside of my wife really gives a crap what, when or whether Barman is betting sports.

I unfortunately made the mistake of letting my inlaws know that I did. Man do not, I repeat, DO NOT do that. Even if it means missing thanksgiving day football it is not worth it. My wife doesn't mind as long as I let her know how I'm doing...(and she's O.K. if I lose a few thousand).

Immediate family is coold with it for the most part. Never tell the inlaws. TRUST ME, it can only do harm to yourself.

My wife knew when she met me that I gambled. To this day she wishes I stopped. She said she thought I would grow out of it. I asked her why she would ever think that. I never told her I would stop some day. My winnings paid for her last year and a half of college and has given her and our family many nice things over the years. When she is reaping the benefits or needs some extra cash she has no problem with it. Otherwise she wishes I would stop. I have no plans of doing that. We have been together for 15 years.

My whole family knows I bet. Just don't talk about it in front of my wife because she's still mad about betting too much 30 years ago

Absolutely not an issue today. I make a lot more, and bet a lot less, and she knows she's lucky in the financial arena

My whole family knows I gamble. My grandfather was a bookie mad drunk died before I was born. I always use to get lectured as a young adult . My son is a poker player who lives near my folks in San Diego he’s always getting lectured however kid works like a rented mule 24 starting his own business. It does take up a lot of your “wasted time” but for me I enjoy it don’t drink barely touch weed anymore so not really a bad impact on my life. Maybe next thanksgiving I will take the day off lol

I got it from my Dad. My whole family knows I gamble. When the cousins found out on my wife side they immediately considered me a cousin too

Haha, almost forgot, a cousin of mine was a big time local bookmaker who happened to own a very high end Italian Restaurant that could only seat like 20 people

Amazing how much money that tiny place pulled in, he had the best of everything

great story teller too, RIP Hugo (Big Moe, who was half the size of his brother, Little Moe, it's an Italian thing)
