Marlboro Reds 3 to 4 packs a day. Had the habit for 30 years now....

Assuming you sleep for an average of 8 hours a day but smoke first thing in the morning and last thing at night, that's 5 cigarettes an hour or one every 12 minutes. Assuming it takes about 6 minutes to smoke a full cigarette, unless I'm mistaken you are smoking a cigarette for as long as you are not, in any given day.

smoke - yes

how much - pack a day average

why- bad habit, been at it now about 14 years

started out smoking when drinking since i thought it enhanced the buzz and it went hand in hand anyway. ended up getting addicted.

dont really smoke upon awakening or when at work or busy in general, its after work, free/spare time, boredom, sweating games, stress, drinking, after meals, after sex, ect

father a heavy smoker growing up. always coughing to the point of being annoying and it smelled bad, always said i wouldnt smoke and here i am a smoker.

funny thing is i just buy smokes by the pack or two and sometimes even three and dont really even buy cartoons. probably bought a cartoon less than a half dozen times out of the 14 years of smoking. just a way of trying to convince myself to kick one day.

i remember living with the folks. pop, mom, sister and i. sister has asthma and mother bad allergies/sinuses, so of course the smoke bothered them. my old man would hang out downstairs so it wouldnt affect them, but when he was upstairs, would wait til everyone went to bed and then smoke out in the living room or sometimes in the bathrrom wih the door closed and window open when he wasnt lazy.

thing is it doesnt matter as the smoke lingers and people can still smell it. they would get to sneezing and it would bother them both. tried talking to him about going outside and having some consderation for the situation, but it was always a temporary solution as he would get lazy eventually and just light up in the house.

after bringing it up constantly, he would just get irritated and say hes not talking about it and then get mad and say okay okay il go outside, but never would anyway. we would have to change the subject.

still to this day he does it and it continues to bother them and they oth suffer. never understod why the guy just cant go outside, but its plain lazy. when we ask him if he just doesnt care about being considerate of others he just gets pissed.

its crazy that he hasnt had any real health issues other than root canal and having gums scraped because he smaokes about 2 packs a day average for hell, about 40 years now.

Sounds like my father...I once told him while pleading with him to quit 'you smoke more than you breathe'...it didn't go over well, he eventually quit about 40 years too late.

The_Man I'm really surprised you would be a smoker after reading this .

Used to smoke myself, i quit and i'm glad.

The one thing that i really hate is the damn smell, my hands smell like crap and it's hard to wash it off. Your mouth tastes like shit, you smell like shit and everyone who is around you and doesn't smoke smells that shit. It's horrid for your health and it will cost you in the long run.

I used to love to smoke a bogie with a coffee in the morning or playing cards and having a cig. That shit is just not cool anymore.

I started working out hardcore and cigs just don't fit into the equasion.

At 27 I held a prominent position for a Corp working at the Airport...Back in those days I was still smoking before work..during and after...As I drove to work smoking 1/2 a joint of primo I flicked the roach out my car window..I did not see it fly..

When I got to work..After I had been working for about 20 minutes..An employee came up to me and said-"Damn, theres a roach on your shoulder"..Sure enough...The roach somehow landed on my shoulder as I drove and welded itself to my shirt shoulder with its heat...

I quickly replied to the employee "Damn, So thats what he threw at me..Acting as if someone had thrown the Mari roach at me...

I had 400 some employees and 10-12 managers under me at the time this occurred----While all the flights were on the ground and everyone was outside on the AOA ramp..I quickly went inside the bathroom and took a hit off some killer..I returned to my office..Moments later the cleaning supervisor ( What an idiot) came up to my office and said he wanted to report someone had been smoking an illegal drug in the bathroom..I prayed he did not smell it on me and with my eyes lit up llike a gators eyes at night when hit by a flashlight in the swamp..I told him--" get back to work..I`ll take care of it:missingte

I started smoking this last year in my first year of college, but quickly stopped making it a habit. I'm now just the typical moocher of a cig every now and then, haven't bought a pack for myself in months. It just really isn't worth it.
