Shrink did truly understand big time gambling. If he had run up huge lines of credit in Vegas, could not pay, and understood their means of collections.... (probably all the case). That circumstance would have forced a man to consider suicide.

The article mentions that Ken's luck ran out during March Madness and he lost everything. I am curious to know what wagers he placed. I do not feel bad about my stated curiosity based on this being a gambling forum that he started to share information and experience. There is certainly a lesson to be learned in Ken's experiences and knowing more detail about how he "ran out of luck" is just natural to ask. Does anyone know the details of the lost wagers ?

RIP Shrink

I believe he bet WVU big in the semis. He was already buried and was trying to bail out. He fucked a supposed good friend in the process. Duke spanked them.

no surprise to anyone, but I know very little about anything as far as secrets and stories about posters.

I do know how to approve a post review post like a champion though (<)<

Thanks for sharing that. With all due respect to a soul that has passed... Ken's whole story provides us with perhaps the greatest lesson he could have ever passed along to the forum. It's a lesson he never absorbed as evidenced in the way his story ends... but it's a lesson I am sure he would have wanted every poster to avoid learning on their own. Knowledge is power. It's the essence of this site.

^^^ Yep, IMO there are 3 types of sports bettors:

1) The Investor -- He does it to earn money, period. Does his homework, sticks to money management and doesn't have an ego or ride an emotional roller coaster.

2) The Entertainment Money Gambler -- He is financially secure and hopes to win, but overall sees sports betting as a fun way to spend a few bucks and get a thrill. He may not admit to himself or anyone else that he loses more than he wins. Yet when he's down $125 betting Quarters all week does not bet $150 on the MNF game so he can win back his $125 while having a pizza and a 6-pack. He still bets $25.

3) The Problem Gambler -- I don't need to tell you much about him. You all know him. For one reason or another he cannot gamble under control. Regardless of his financial roller coaster he will never win enough, and his story will end badly, and others will be hurt in the process. Obviously there are subsets in this group. Some will recover and get help while they can still salvage their lives. Others will lose everything.

Regarding the article about Ken/The Shrink.

Please remember anyone writing such an article gets their "story" from elsewhere.

There was so much going on in this man's life.

I spoke to him daily and knew many secrets.

I still to this day have 200 specific emails and even voice mails from him that I've kept because they have meaning.

The only other ones who knew/knows SOME (not all) of the same secrets I do is blondie and our old friend/poster Yummy from eog, whom I used to work with and was a friend of blondies.

Wish I could share so much that I know but I've just never been one who felt that is in good taste.

If I can't even bring myself to reveal people who have stiffed me for thousands, not sure I could tell such secrets about others...

Good post Hache.

I too, talked to Kenny on the phone a number of times and although we never met in person, he seemed like a happy-go-lucky, genuine, nice family guy. When I spoke with him, he was polite, respectful, intelligent and seemed like a guy you'd certainly like to have dinner and a beer with.

It seems Kenny certainly had some demons and it's sad it got to the point where he felt suicide was his only option.

Wish nothing but the best to his family. Tough deal.

Judge Wapner getting turned down by a Spearmint Rhino chick for 5 Grand....(I would have paid 6)

I'll never forget that night. Riding in the limo with you and Judge and Porno Paul, dsethi and Green Doberman (did I forget anyone?). Then we get to go in the VIP entrance and don't have to pay a cover.

That black chick approached me and I started up a conversation with her and GD just about fell out of his chair because he liked the black girls even more than I did.

Then came time for the next bottle and they wanted something like $400 for it so we all just bought single drinks for $12 each.

I never did see the Brazilian. I think I left before you guys met up with her. Whenever I see a Brazilian in an escort service ad, I wonder how she compares to the lady you met that night.
