Definitely not cool for him. If I was a teammate I would definitely question his motivation. You can have fun when the time is right, but if you want to be a leader, you should be on site, studying, practicing, and focusing on the season at all times when you are a rookie looking to prove yourself. Should keep out of the limelight for his teammates. I don't think Johnny Football gives a fuck about the Browns.

I totally garee. There is so much to learn as a first year QB in the NFL. Someone who had the serious approach the craft that is required to succeed at this level would be busy studying his playbook and watching film right now. Guys who expect to make millions a year being the best in the world at something need to be driven to succeed at all times.

he's entitled to have a life, I'm appalled at the audacity people have to judge him, he's a fucking kid

I doubt Peyton ever partied much, but I suspect Brady parties hard with his wife

I'm about results on the field, and I'll reserve judgement until we get to observe that

Tommy football is a lightening rod for the press, and they have now invested a lot of time hating him, they're going to do everything they can to paint him a loser

lighten up and let the kid live his fucking life

Manziel, who was selected with the 22nd overall pick by the Browns in this month's draft, is expected to challenge Brian Hoyer for the starting job. Last week, first-year coach Mike Pettine said Manziel was having typical problems for a young player.

"It's like any other rookie, that he's just inconsistent," Pettine said. "I think a lot of it's the mental part of it. He's more worried about getting the formation right, making sure the motion is correct, and he's got the cadence. Then he's got to worry about where guys are. Being good mechanically takes a back seat to learning the system first. I think you see over the maturation process, once all that stuff becomes second nature, that he'll be a lot more comfortable."

Manziel has made a favorable impression with the Browns in his first weeks as a pro. He has said all the right things during two media availabilities, echoing the team's stance that he is a backup and will have to earn a starting job.

Pettine also said Manziel has shown humility, fitting in nicely with some teammates who may have expected Johnny Football to act differently.

"He's quiet, actually," Pettine said. "He's a good guy to be around. I think the guys in the locker room will be able to tell you that he's a fun guy. But you can tell, when it's time to work, he works, and he's very serious about this. You can tell he's very competitive."

Cleveland's practice Wednesday is open to the media.

Yes, but he couldn't play even at USC. He was always overrated. JFF's skills, imo don't translate to the NFL.

LOL, he won a Heisman at USC. To say he couldn't play there and was overrated is, well, kinda silly. He was also a first team 2X All American.

I cant believe anyone would care what he does on his free time. Give your head a shake. What if he went on a spiritual retreat? Sounds like jealousy to me.

Let people live their lives the way they want and quit listening to what the media wants you to think.

From what I heard, he had his playbook on his tablet and was studying it.

Does not matter where he hangs out. He will never be a big-time NFL talent anyway!

Johnny better enjoy his fame for the few minutes it lasts!

People do realize that half of the league is sitting around smoking weed and playing Xbox this weekend while the other half is going out to clubs across the country.. To act like the rest of the league is running up hills with tires on their back on Memorial Day weekend is really misinformed and just hating on a guy that they wish they were.

Yeah, I'm sure this trip will be the difference between winning and losing for his entire career. If he flops, we can all look back at that Memorial Day weekend as the reason it all went wrong..

:think2:

I honestly can't believe some people are making such a huge deal out of this. Actually, on second thought...I can. There is absolutely nothing to talk about from an NFL perspective right now, so this is nothing more than a ridiculous media creation that will fill time until training camps start in July.

There were plenty of other rookies who went off and partied in other cities this past weekend...because there isn't jackshit happening. If JFF did this on a weekend in the middle of the season and flew back into town just minutes before kickoff of their Monday night game, then it's a cause for concern. For now though, who gives a shit? I doubt other QBs spent the entire weekend sitting at home under a blanket with a flashlight and their playbook in hand...
