Those of you who voted yes, what do you think the reason they would manipulate the lines? Is it so they can get the number and bet it at all the other books at the line they want Billy Walters style, or is it just so that all the other books will get crushed and hopefully driven out of business? Or is your conspiracy theory something different all together?
Stinky, I am actually laughing out loud at some of Rick's comments...I know Rick and his lovely wife and I can separate business from actual personalities....can you actually imagine Sports Options cold calling an employee of CRIS's?? Was in the office at the time and was hillarious...

No Im not kidding you, and Im not talking about manipulating it to beat the players Im talking about manipulating lines to screw with the other books. Besides DB is supposed to be an unbiased source of information and not a book at all so should not withold information from anyone. I would be lying if I said that having the biggest SB in the world having full control of how we percieve line-movement didnt scare the shit out of me.
And if Pinny and Olympic are pulling that shit then DB should be there to let the people know, I mean it is supposed to provide up to the minute info or is it not? If you know then Cris knows, if Cris knows then DB knows, and DB knows and isnt telling us then DB is basically lying to us and fucking us period.
Can't blame Don Best when Pinny and Olympic are the ones putting up bad lines...that's why line managers make the big bucks to sift thru the bullshit...Pinny and especially Olympic are licking their chops when another book clones their numbers...
When I worked, I couldn't care less what these guys used at halftime...I knew what the number should be, a long with my Boston buddy from downstairs....
This is why it is so important to have competition.
2 years ago DB thought they were the best they could be in all areas, software, injuries, stats, etc and they had no intentions of changing a thing. In fact ALL of their efforts were put into marketing and increasing subscriptions, which is important, but not at the expense of improvement. When I left, they were even talking about another price increase.
So what if SportsOptions had not come along? DB would have kept the status quo and everybody would be paying more and getting less.
