I think people get more conservative (and perhaps indifferent), which doesnt mean that includes an increase in racist sentiment. It has more to do with the youth co-opting the social justice movement causing a distortion. Real world experience teaches you can't save it. Taking care of yourself is hard enough.
Just returned from Vancouver over the weekend. Visited there my entire childhood every summer for 20years. It was shocking to learn that Vancouver is now 51% Chinese. Holy crap! I'm here in the Bay Area. Chinese and Indians have taken over my neighborhood. I live in a pretty affluent city compared to the rest of the Bay Area. White flight is very real and it's becoming less and less prevalent in this quiet neighborhood.
