Derailed as in lose? It’s not impossible, but it’s probably as likely as Thompson going into Orchard Park and winning Sunday

Seattle has realllllly faltered. And they match up horribly
Not as in lose, definitely would be shocked by that…can the Seahawks hang in with all of the Niners weapons on offense + a rock solid opportunistic defense?…the line dropping has me worried…beating a division foe by DD three straight games?…somebody plug that into a database!…as for the original question about the 49ers sticking with Purdy, dumb question…I don’t think Jimmy G or Lance would have played better than this kid!

Purdy has not just been serviceable, but has actually been quite good!

He has opened up some things for them offensively. It seems like him and Aiyuk have a great connection, which alone adds a layer to their offense that makes the team very hard to defend

He doesn't have a huge arm, but he's accurate and can get the ball out quick -- Shanahan type of QB. He's also very quick with his feet

I know this site gets a little crazy after these big games…testosterone runs rampant and feelings get hurt…conspiracy theories abound…but all must agree that the injury to Purdy sucked…what a great story, I sure hope that he isn’t a one hit wonder!

Team is going to be very difficult to beat if it stays healthy, though that's a big if.

Loaded on both sides of the ball. Deebo looks like he's in better shape (as has been rumored), and Aiyuk looked impressive today. It's just one game, but Steelers probably gonna be OK this year

Purdy looks very poised in the pocket. Might have a few games where he makes a few young guy mistakes, but overall he's off to a very strong start

Every time I watch Purdy, I think about my Browns overpaying (understatement) for Deshaun Watson…part of it is being in the right spot at the right time, but his timing and accuracy make Watson look like the “real” Mr. Irrelevant!…

Yep.

Owners/GMs have foolishly drafted and overpaid so called athletic quarterbacks when what wins are pocket quarterbacks that read the defense before the snap, quickly identity the open receiver #1 target or #2 target within 2.7 seconds and get the ball to him accurately for 10-15 yards (or more) with the correct touch on the ball.

MOST of the run first, run too often, stay too long in the pocket, dancing around all the time quarterbacks have failed miserably.

I will take Purdy over Dak, Watson, Murray, Fields, Young, Richardson, and Jackson for sure.

I doubt there is that big a inefficiency in QB evaluation to where there are all these guys who can do what Purdy has done and they're just on the couch somewhere not being properly developed. Tons of pocket passers get drafted high and get chances to play, most of them are terrible.

You have to be ridiculously good at that style to make it work.

I've said this for years. Back in the day I used to talk about it with McNair and McNabb as well. Once they became pocket passers they gave their team a real chance to go far. You can look at Hurts this way too, which is why you didn't list him. By the way, for weeks I've said that Minshew should be playing, and when he gets in there, he wins. The problem is that you can't bet on them when they won't start him, and hope for an injury, lol. I wonder if they notice that Minshew Mania wins, period.
