I know depression is a motherfucker and it is hard for somebody not suffering from depression to really understand the seriousness of it but I feel it is more of a mind over mind control thing.
There are a lot of people that are rich, poor, attractive, unattractive, loved, not very loved, healthy and not healthy that have all claimed to be depressed. So its not like depression attacks a persons station in life.
I think we as people need to step back and look at life outside our own bodies for a second. Is there really something that is bringing you down that you feel no one has ever experienced and that you are one of few people in the world to ever experience it? If so then you need to get over yourself. If a loved one recently died think about the people out there who lost their entire family in a tragic accident or crime. If you lost your job and are down on your bills then find another job and pay only the bills that you can afford. The great thing about this Country is you can't get sent to prison for being broke. If you are lonely and get depressed when you see couples flaunting their happiness. Then just look at the couple who hate each others guts or flip through the news and read about the dude that chopped up his girlfriend.
There are such a precious few that actually have a kick ass life from birth to death. The majority of us are slammed in the middle trying to carve out a life for ourselves that we can be content with. But if you actually take a look around their are people in this world who's whole ancestry and future descendants will always have a real shitty life. Imagine being born in Ethiopia where your life consists of disease and starving to death. Imagine being born in a country that has been going through a holy war for the past 1000 years. Trust me there are hundreds of worse hands each of us could have been dealt in life.
