You definately should not get punished for your success but the thing is most rich families are not rich because of their own hardwork in some cases they are but not most. Most are rich families who have been rich for generations

Not correct. 70% of millionaires are self-made.

Nes its up to you to stop the poverty in your family. It is your job not our job to improve the life of your parents.

We already have many many programs to help the poor. Don't you think that its time the poor stop making excuses and start working for what they want. This is America you can make it if you put in the time and work.

It is not my job to give your parents money.

All you guys want the end result to be garunteed but all that is garunteed is the chance to make it.

If you are so concerned you should stop gambling and get a second job and give that money to your parents. Get it out of your pocket not mine.

Head to break it to you papi but I dont gamble and my parents are a couple of the most devoted hard working americans that you will ever meet. My mom works fifty-sixty hours a week in a factory and always has as long as I can remember. But then again maybe its her fault for not getting a better education to do more like you did but unfortunately she had to worry more about putting food on the plate for her after my dad ended up having severely disabling accident that led to three amputations when I was young. He is on Social Security, a government program which you probably think should be cut as well, but unfrotunately after three amputations working 100 hours a week gets eliminated as an option. Still despite his disabilities he gets out and works atleast 30 hours a week under the table to make sure that the bills are paid and he has gas in the truck in case there is an emergency.

If America is so great there is no reason that tax breaks cannot be given to the working class, and free health care given to her citizens. No one wants to steal your carrot but without your everyday Joes the rich will have no one to exploit and no one to buy their bullshit products that make them rich so maybe a little help might actually help the system flourish.

amen.

Look at Obama. He had every excuse in the world for not making it:

- I'm black
- I didnt know my father
- I got moved around all over the world
- I didnt come from wealth

Yet, the guy graduated from an Ivy League school, became a US Senator, is a millionaire and now will likely make history as the first Black President. No one gave him anything (media bias aside)...he earned that shit.

Doesnt mean I will vote for him but I certainly respect his moxy.

I just wish he'd call out that kinda hard-working, I-can-do-anything spirit in the "have nots" of America instead of saying we need more entitlements, and need to "spread the wealth" around. He told Joe the Plumber that he wanted to make sure that "the people working under him have a chance at success too". The reality is...they already do.

I will admit that I am the worse guy to argue politics with because I honestly have learned to not give a shit because the system is for the rich, and for that reason alone it would be nice to see a change. Maybe I could learn to love America again if it started caring more about its citizens and less about war and gain.

Currently working CS for an offshore company. If I hadnt have given up on America almost a decade ago I would be voting for Obama, not necessarily for tax breaks but just because Im sick of the war mongering image that our country has had since Reagan was in office.

What is your occupation?

I work for a financial institution in Chicago. The place is on a fucking respirator...may not have a job in a couple months.

I was just curious about your situation since you think the system is rigged for the rich. Looks like you put your money where your mouth is and moved out of the country. I disagree with your opinions but I respect you not sitting on your ass here in America and complaining about it.

If things go the way I think they might, I may move out of the country as well.

You just made my point NES. See they are doing what is needed to survive. That is the American spirit. That is the American way of life.

And no I have no problem people getting disability from that fund.

Most Americans are hard workes and this just proves my point. Life isn't always fair. There are no garuntees in life. That is what makes this a great country. If things are garunteed they don't mean very much.

Did not mean to insult your parents. I was just trying to prove a point and I just did.

If that was an apology I'll take it but thats not really what I was looking for. I just cant see what doesnt make sense about giving tax breaks to the people that need it, if the word rich applies to you then it seems obvious that you can afford a little more taxation atleast more than your average American.

Some times, things look good on paper but they break down when you apply them in real life. Just ask Karl Marx.

Well in a few years we will probably be wishing we would have switched over to communism because when the working class cant afford to eat or drive to work anymore then we are going to run into some serious problems.

Yeah, then the rich guys will be the ones running the black markets and the gap between the rich & poor will grow even larger.

Geez NES how much of a break do you want for them. They already get plenty of braks. They already don't hardly pay any taxes. When is enough enough? When did it become ok not to pull your own weight. I didn't tell those people to keep popping out kids when they had no money for the kids they already have.

Geez

OMFG

Let's cut taxes for the working middle class and give them more relief and boost the taxes on the rich a little.
Play with the percentage points some and then all of the sudden it's classified as "wealth redistribution."

We have to do something to help the middle class to boost the economy and stop these foreclosures and slowed commerce. And cut into this ginormous deficit we have.

How else are we supposed to do it.

I love these guys making less than 200k talking all the big republican talk they shouldnt be allowed near the voting booth.

Yeah, you're right Funk. Lets tax the shit out of the guys who actually own the businesses that employ everyone and make this country go. Then, when they pack up and leave and you're outta work, who you gonna blame?

More liberal stupidity. Next place they raise the taxes on would be 120,000. And they won't stop. Rob you will never get it will you. I just don't think you are a very smart person.

No. We should do all we can to accelerate the foreclosures. That way, people who can actually afford the houses will have an opportunity to buy them and they won't be punished for others' stupidity/irresponsibility. Nobody is going to bail me out if I decide to take a loan for 800+% more than I make in a year and then lose it all in the market or on another "investment." Houses should only be an investment in the sense that it creates a guard against inflation by fixing one's housing cost. Our economy should not be dependent on housing prices. When it is, as evidenced by the current situation, the only option is failure. We need more personal responsibility in this country. The money being spent during the "boom" wasn't real money--it's time to remove the stigma of renting and stop advocating spending on credit.
