None of those slot receivers for the Patriots should make the Hall. It's the system, not the players. They look for a certain type of player. Quick shifty players who can be trained to run routes just the way Brady likes them. They are pretty much interchangeable.

Welker
Amendola
Edelman

Nothing special about any of those guys at all.

Welker was nothing before the Patriots, awesome with them, not much after leaving despite Manning being his QB.

Amendola was not much before the Pats, much better with the Pats, then again nothing after leaving.

They make guys like Burkhead seem like a decent player. On any other team you would never even have heard of Burkhead.

If Edelman suffered a career ending injury tommorrow. The Pats could sign Cole Beasley tommorrow and not miss a beat. They never have to pay these guys much because they aren't really that good, and nobody will give them a lot of money.

Total system players. Good at what they do.

Great documentary on Edelman on Showtime.

Didn't know he started off playing football for community college, what an amazing story.
