I agree with Spaded....call on the flop and when u hit the nuts on the turn bust him. If you miss on the turn, fold to any decent size bet.

Celtic after re reading the post again, I agree with the folding preflop unless the raiser was a lag playing and raising every hand...then its still close..either way, if I didnt fold preflop Id play it the way I said earlier on the flop and turn...theres nothing terribly wrong with the way the poster played it assuming he had a good read on the raiser

I would prefer a check after the flop. If everyone checks, great, free card. If someone bets you can probably just call, see it for cheap and maybe get a bunch of players in the pot when you are looking for nut flush with no pairs on the board. With what you played, a call was almost guaranteed and you were almost surely behind. Not a terrible play if you had some reason to believe this guy might fear you and fold an actual hand, but otherwise I'd prefer to play it slower.

My analysis may be wrong, just how I see it. Not an awful play by any means though, might help you set up the table for later on.

Not an awful play, but I would have never done it. I would have gladly taken the free card. Then after he re-raised me I probably would have called. You didn't even have a pair. Normally I like to have atleast something, a pair of nines would have given you a couple more outs for a possible set or two pair. Your kicker was weak so even if you hit the ace, you're not sure if that would be enough.

I don't like risking my whole stack on a draw.

Thats a standard play at $1/$2 on Pokerstars.

You can get ridiculolus action on all your hands on Stars and Tilt up to $2/$4. Although, this is why more bad beats occur and you hear the whining.
We must be playing at a different Pokerstars because $1/$2 is a rock garden.
