Go2, what you are smelling is one of 1,000 colones pensions around the corner.

It's understandable that people are pissed off when they are laid off.

But the bottomline still stands. I have spelled out the hard economic facts. You can't argue with numbers, and that is why these guys are avoiding them.

At Intel you are looking at $800 - $1,200 per month. But like you said, those are engineers. That is huge money in CR. But again they are paying them in colones so you are taking a 1% pay cut every month. If you get a 10% raise every year it is actually a 2% paycut.

Go 2:

I'll leave that up the the Shrink..

I read he was going to speak to David, and post his findings here.

The reason I was willing to take a large bet that no players would get stiffed was to get some sucker money to bet against me.

Unfortunately, no takers so far - just trash talkers.

You guys keep talking about how the book employees get paid more than the reg joe on the streets, weel thats for a good reason. All of these people are biligual (some know more languages), computer literate so they are a specialized group in a country that is mostly agriculture and turisim so they should be paid more. If you take into account what these companies would have to elsewhere you will notice that they are in Costa Rica because of how cheap the labor is.

The people working in tourism speak english. They get paid dick.

Doctors and laywers speak english and are computer literate, again they get paid dick. Why do you think you have laywers at many of the books answering the phones, "sports".

EGD no place including the Rx can be counted on 100% accuracy however Sting has pretty much been on top of this situation from the beginning and even when people were clowning him look where we are now? I am really convinced now that most of the active members of this board are not gamblers but customer service reps and book owners

Val, who are you talking to. I called you val.

I also addressed SuperWimp, which is a poster previously in this thread.

I know plenty of lawyers that are making less than SB employees.

I have no clue whats going on with DSI, from what I hear they pay their players.

However, I do disagree with them not paying the employees. We are still looking into going to Panama, and one (of the many) expenses for us to move will be to pay this insane amount to the "fired" employees. But if we move we will pay it, not because we cant get away with NOT paying, but because it is the right thing to do.

We do pay them more than the CR companies do but that still does not change what is right and what is wrong. Just like you (the players) expect the same level of customer service from a book whether it is small or HUGE.

However, instead of spending time here complaining, you should look for a new job. Sorry for your loss, but posting here will not change anything for you. Good luck to you.
