As it turns out, it has been widely noted by experts/pundits/insiders that the Lions made two bad picks on day #1, though I think most civilian NFL fans would know it, too. It does not take an expert to see Detroit's mistakes. Lions have done well but I would expect the fanatic type Lion fans were not pleased.

However, they did a lot better day #2 for rounds 2 & 3, but the ones on day #1 were much more important.

This coming from someone who adamantly, repeatedly said go against Kansas City in the Super Bowl because there was a lot of pressure on them for reasons that you could not describe.

Look at Detroit's first round picks, even you should see that they were mistakes.

Lions left some better pieces on the table in the draft. Could have been a haul and great draft. Came out light on that cards trade giving up that 81 pick with no 3 or 4th rd picks

I get getting rid of Swift but to eagles a stout team and SB built team why hand a possible competitor that for 7th. Send him elsewhere for nothing

As much as I’d like to see Detroit in Vegas for SB, just couldn’t back em this early.

Early bird gets the worm.

All the experts had Washington RD 1 type guy. He almost fell to 4th RD. Mayer had been the top TE and sure fire top 20 pick since last year. Went RD 2

Musgrave, Schoonmaker, Kraft all went RD 2 and way ahead of Washington. However, different styles in TE and teams need or desire scheme wise affects some of all this.

You draft the guys ya like or want. Where they go is a bit irrelevant. Time will tell how these guys do though

I could see a scenario where he moves up to WR2 fo NO later in the year.

I dont see too many people taking him though so he MIGHT be a good final pick, especially if you are stacking with Carr
