Updating a previous item, DeMarco Murray (foot) returned to individual drills on Thursday.

The Cowboys are encouraged by Murray's progress this week, but he's not going to play at Philadelphia. "The position he plays, the stress he puts on that injury, he has to be 100 percent before we put him out there," said executive VP Stephen Jones. It's starting to look like Week 11 versus the Browns is a realistic target. The Cowboys have averaged a mere 56.3 yards per game on the ground during Murray’s absence.

DeMarco Murray (foot) has been ruled out for Week 10.

Murray did practice on a limited basis all week, likely in preparation to target a Week 11 return. Felix Jones, Lance Dunbar, and Phillip Tanner will be Dallas' tailbacks against the Eagles. It's a fantasy football situation to avoid.

Cowboys declared RB DeMarco Murray, CB Mike Jenkins, FS Matt Johnson, C Phil Costa, LB Dan Connor, DE Sean Lissemore, and OG David Arkin inactive for Week 10 at Philadelphia.

Murray progressed to limited practices this week. If he passes the necessary medical tests, he should get the green light for Week 11 against the Browns. Felix Jones is expected to start Sunday, with Lance Dunbar working in as the change-of-pace back. Ernie Sims is starting for ILB Connor.

A Cowboys team source tells beat writer Clarence Hill not to "count on" DeMarco Murray (foot) for a Week 11 return against the Browns.

"Things could change, but the Cowboys want him 100 percent. Not there yet," Hill added. Murray admitted on Sunday night that he still hasn't passed all of the physical tests, but that he's "hoping" to play against Cleveland. Felix Jones amassed 93 yards on 19 touches against the Eagles and would get another start if Murray can't suit up.

Although he's "dying to get out there," DeMarco Murray (foot) was noncommittal on his Week 11 status when asked Tuesday.

"We'll see. I don't know. We'll see how it goes," said Murray. "You've to think what's best for the team, you've got to think what's best for yourself. I am just trying to stay patient." Early-week signals suggest Murray is a long shot to play against the Browns.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones expressed increased confidence Monday that DeMarco Murray is ready to return from his sprained foot.

Murray has missed six games. "I don't know yet," Jones said. "But I feel confident, more so that past weeks, absolutely." Coach Jason Garrett made it clear Monday that Murray would not play without practicing. The Cowboys play the Eagles in Week 13, and Garrett is "hopeful" Murray will be able to return.

DeMarco Murray (foot) was officially limited in his return to practice on Wednesday.

Per coach Jason Garrett, Murray remains questionable for Sunday. It would be an excellent sign if Murray wakes up without any unusual swelling or soreness on Thursday and gets in a second straight practice, but even that wouldn't be tantamount to a guarantee that he'll play against the Eagles. It's possible he's just getting his legs back underneath him ahead of a Week 14 return.

DeMarco Murray (foot) was limited again in Thursday's practice.

The locker room at Valley Ranch was reportedly "buzzing" with the sense that Murray will play versus the Eagles on Sunday. "Yeah, I'm hopeful. I'm hopeful," OL coach Bill Callahan said. Added to Tony Romo, "If he's ready to go, it will be a boost." The Cowboy's optimism has been cautious, so be sure to check back Friday to ensure that Murray has avoided a setback.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that DeMarco Murray (foot, questionable) is expected to be used in a limited role on Sunday night against the Eagles.

Murray is fully expected to make his long-awaited return from a Week 6 ligament injury, and the limited role was also believed to be the case this week. He and Felix Jones (knees, questionable) will likely be involved in a committee approach. Murray currently checks in as Rotoworld's No. 28 running back for Week 13 and is no more than a flex option.
