I thought cassano had a great game.. They should have taken toni out instead of cassano and put in del piero.. Both cassano and del piero are players that can create magic with the ball. Cassano all a lone out there. Footspeed was best of both teams combined, but all creativity was negated by Ambrosini who was tailing him (completely lost) within 5m radius. 15m mark, and Spain midfielders were absoultely aware of Cas, and started laying back.
Donadoni substitution, for the entrance of Udinese's may weapon, was with clear indication and anticipation of PK kicks. No way I would have chosen Di Natale for penalty kicks. Barely any playing time in the tournament, and nervous from the penalty spot, he shot shot weakly. He played too little and was never in game/mental shape. It's truly ironic as with Udinese he was an absolute predator. Nonetheless, you are a highly paid goal scorer and shoud deliver.
De Rossi, puts out fires on defense. PK kicks are not on his stage. He's a bull and EPL material...
In the curent Donadoni era, it is sad to watch most of the Italians aim low on the PK....
I'm Sorry FM, Cassano was best player out there for the Italian forwards. I am glad to see that he's still fearless of going 1 against 3. Absence of Pirlo was an obvious liabiliy. He was truly all alone on any of the few offenisve Italian rushes.
See, I thought that although Cassano had a lot of possession that he was wasteful with it. Many, many poor passes and turnovers. Now I wish I hadn't of deleted the game, maybe I just missed something. Best of the forwards isn't saying much though, Toni was atrocious and Perrotta was worthless out there as well, but that is understandable given their mentality. He is only valuable when he is on an attacking team and they were not in attack mode yesterday. When Camoranesi came on for Cassano I thought they got much, much more dangerous and had their best opportunities.
I actually though DeRossi, Chiellini and Camoranesi played the best. I never felt like Spain was dangerous even though they had much of the possession and many shots. Thought Chiellini did pretty well taking care of things in the middle and he/they handled Torres easily.
DeRossi is f*ed taking PKs now, I think he has missed his last 3 (ManU, this one and I believe one in a Serie A game shortly before ManU). Though I did think Casillas made a tremendous save on his PK (I believe he was the first to miss).

I feel for Donadoni. In the end group was never united against him. Players Like Totti should never have refused a free passport on the EUro stage. Sad really, quite sad. A huge disppointment considering he had nothing to lose and could have contributed to some degree.
