If they keep the offense simple wilson will do okay...he can't make complex reads easliy...seattle tailored the offense to make wilson successful.

Broncos and coach had no interest simplifying the way wilson needs simplification.

He'll have a decent season in a simple 2 read offensive scheme.

I'd also add wilson is a weirdo and not well liked in most locker rooms.

One year deal was wise.

Redeye is correct...two QB's in this division can't stay on the field, but Cleveland's back-up is better than Wilson too. Pete Carroll is the smartest guy in the NFL as he recognized Geno was an upgrade.

Gino was cheaper, not really an upgrade. Gino hasn't done shit Seahawks probably already looking for another QB.

Pittsburgh goes from having the worst QB in the division to having the worst QB in the division.
He may end up better than DeShaun the sexual predator aka Mr. Glass. Wilson will be playing for his football legacy and pride and Tomlin and the Steelers, they can bring it out of him. If he puts up last year's stats they're a damn good playoff team.

No brainer. Very low risk and high reward. He was a diva which will change in Pittsburgh. It was just a couple of years ago Russ was considered a HOF candidate!

Russ's stats are very deceiving

So many dump offs -- why he only threw for like 200 ypg

Cared more about his interception percentage than trying to make plays to win games

So you say again, but regardless he's a bargain and a no brainer for Pittsburgh. I do want clarification though as it sounds like you're talking about another diva who is still in control with the Jets who dumped passes to keep his INTs down for several years while with the Packers.

Wilsons contract is 1.21 million... that is bargain NFL back-up QB money.
Signing for the league minimum, the Broncos will now be stuck paying him $37.79 million in cash on top of the $85 million in dead cap they'll take over the next two seasons.

Broncos take another gas pipe on the wilson deal.

Wasn't trying to compare the two. My point is Wilson to Pittsburgh is a no brainer of a deal and he can flourish in Pittsburgh. He still has more than enough game. Don't let Payton's disdain for Russell make you think he's washed.

Could be the worst trade ever made in NFL history but to Pittsburgh's benefit. Denver left with egg on their face.

I wouldn’t say no brainer

The guy comes with baggage

And they’re basically the same team with or without him

He has been washed for several years

Steelers are one of the better organizations out there. For only a cool million , they probably did some investigating on their own, thought they could make this work.

BTW, what baggage? as the years went by, plenty of assholes were on that Seahawk squad . So who really knows who was and wasn't a good locker room guy.

Well a lot of players have come out and said he’s not a good locker room guy

So there’s that

Though I agree if anyone can shut that crap up, it’s the Steelers

Stubborn little bugger aren't you? The guys baggage (his diva ego) will not appear in this one year deal. Pickett sucks ass but they are not ready to dump the kid. Here's a stat that is not deceiving for over analyzing analytics geeks. Pickett 25 TD passes in last two years. Last season alone Wilson 26 TD passes. For 1.2 million that is a NO BRAINER. Avocado do you question and argue with your dealer when he deals a blackjack to you?
