</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Clausen is likely to start in Week 12, relegating Brian St. Pierre to backup duty or possibly even the free agent wire. Stewart's return takes the life out of Mike Goodson as a continued fantasy starter. Though Goodson has played too well to not be a part of the running back rotation going forward, he's no longer a safe bet for more than 10 or so touches. Stewart is the Panthers' likely feature back of the future. It's a fantasy situation to avoid against an underrated Browns run defense in Week 12.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Leading the Panthers in rushing despite coming "off the bench" behind Mike Goodson, Stewart's highlight was a 31-yard fourth-quarter rumble that moved Carolina deep into Browns territory and set up a 43-yard John Kasay field goal. We've had concerns about Stewart's health all season considering his uncharacteristically poor-play production, but he looked plenty healthy on Sunday. Expect 12-15 more touches in Week 13 against the Seahawks.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=bodyCopy>DeAngelo Williams (injured reserve, foot) said Monday that the status of RBs coach Jim Skipper will factor into his decision on whether he'll re-sign with the Panthers this offseason.</TD></TR><TR><TD>
clear.gif
</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>"I’m very comfortable with him," Williams said. "That’s the only running back coach I’ve ever played for. He understands me. I understand him. ... It’s whether or not they want to bring me back." The Panthers are likely to overhaul their coaching staff, so this will be a situation to monitor. As an impending free agent, of course, Williams could also be franchise tagged, taking the decision out of his hands. Ideally, the Panthers would roll with Jonathan Stewart, Mike Goodson, and Tyrell Sutton in the backfield while tagging, then trading Williams for a high draft pick.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>In his first game back from a concussion, Stewart averaged 8.2 yards per carry while Goodson labored to a 3.9 mark. It won't really matter who starts, but we do expect Stewart to gradually take control of the majority of early-down work. Goodson will stick with PPR value as a change-of-pace option and third-down back.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Coach John Fox won't name a starter, but he confirmed that both backs will be used against a defense allowing over 5.0 YPC since Red Bryant went down with a season-ending injury. Goodson is expected to return to practice Friday after missing two days for the birth of his child. He's a better option in PPR leagues whereas Stewart is the superior choice in TD-heavy leagues.

Beat writer Steve Reed confirms that Stewart "looks to be fine" for Sunday. Stewart is a RB1 option as one of the hottest backs in the league.
