You'd still have to think he'll get $150-$200 million. What other options do the Cowboys really have unless they're planning to trade for a guy like Sam Darnold or sign a guy like Jameis Winston.

completely wrong...dak's huge stats coupled with a losing record show he's replaceable.
then add in zeeeks huge contract that they don't want to go to waste....
all of a sudden...you have a lot of cap room to help out this sad D.

Curious to see how long is he out for (can he return in 2021) and what his next contract looks like?

personally, I didn’t think Dak was worth the HUGE payday

I think he'll be back in 2021. Can't really say how much $ he will make because everything is up in the air with the rona.

I'd actually say the injury might be a blessing in disguise because with Dallas D/OL they were probably headed for an 8-8 year and playoff ass whooping, not really the type of season that makes someone excited to pay you 9 figures.

Sometimes less is more.

No one is going to sign him to a multi-year contract for as much as he could have signed for this year. He will be coming out of the hospital and out of rehab. Over the next few days they will ID a few other players with a similar injury so let's see what the expectation will be.

That's not debatable. But he will get a large contract. Not what he could have signed for this offseason.

He gambled. And lost.

Honestly he was not worth what he was asking .

Maybe Jerry will be nice and tell him that the offer they made to him which is more then generous is still on the table .

He is not worth Russell Wilson money .

100% dead on no way dak is worth Wilson money that is a huge leap from good QB. I would put him in same class as Cam Newton a gamer who will give you everything they got but not elite no miracles here

I would think his agent posted up several million for a insurance policy just for this occurrence. It probably covered several things. A career ending injury and an injury that would affect a future contract. If your Dak as expensive as it is you pay it. Even if the premium is between $5-$10 million. Provided there is no infection like what happened in Alex Smith case or ligament damage he should be good to go by next season. A source told Dallas Morning News 4-6 months. Just in time for mini-camps if they have them next April.

Don't see it affecting his future earnings

He broke his ankle, not like he avoided having parts of his leg amputated like Alex Smith

Saw enough of Dallas last night to say this will end up being accurate.

Their OL/coaching is miserable, his fortunes are secure as long as he doesn't have Michael Jackson's doctor.

The way they're playing without him, he'll probably get more.

Dallas is so bad they could end up with the #1 pick.

Then what?

No way they end up with number 1.

Mind you, they should probably be 0-6.
