He looks bad because he is forced to throw because his team can't run. On the Niners he'd have the running game and would therefore not have opposing teams rushing 4 and dropping everyone back into coverage. Everything is not as it seems.

9ers were only averaging like 10 YPG more than the Bears on the ground before tonight.

That excuse worked last year for me too when Denver sent 7 tailbacks to the IR. And so did..."But his defense sucks!"

Did Forte get that bad over one summer?

Chicago never trailed by more than ONE score tonight so don't give me that crap that they 'had to throw'.

Chicago's defense was SICK tonight...only allowing 206 yards & 10 points when they constantly had their backs to the wall.

Cutler crapped his pants once again and STILL people want to blame the running game, his lack of Oline, his lack of WR's, his lack of D.....

The bottom line is he's got a million dollar arm and a ten cent head.

The Bears ran for like 40 yards and averaged 2 a carry. Yes he had to throw. Nothing was getting accomplished with the running game at all.

As bad as Culter played today, he's still better than half the QBs in the league.

You got to give some credit to the SF defense. They were 5 out of 5 interceptions and no drops. Chicago had 1 interception, had one dropped interception, and one interception called back on an offsides penalty.

The Chicago offensive coaches aren't go great.

Why run a 3 yard route, from the 2 yard line, in the middle of the field? If a defensive lineman falls down then gets up, take one step back and he's in pass coverage.

On the first interception of the night, there it was, Culter running for his life at the 10 yard line, throws it to the defensive lineman who was pass rushing but started to ad lib and now was in coverage.

Why design a play like that? Why didn't Culter just eat the ball? Why did not a single Bears receiver make a good play on a ball the entire night? And why did the Bears could not run the ball when SF played 7 guys in the box all night? And how could SF always be in Cutler's face all game, without blitzing most of the time?

Seems to me Chicago's problems on offense goes a lot deeper than Culter.

Maybe Culter is playing like he wants to get the coaches fired, lol.

JAY CUTLER: AN NFL FIRST HE'S NOT PROUD OF...

Jay Cutler passed for 307 yards but threw five interceptions and the Bears were held without a touchdown in their 10-6 loss at San Francisco. Cutler became the first player in NFL history to pass for 300 yards in a game while being intercepted at least five times and seeing his team held without a touchdown.

The Resemblance to Jeff George Is Stunning

Both great arms, terrible attitudes. Cutler could care less about the team, only his stats matter. Standing on the sidelines after 4 picks and laughing like a fool. Like George a talent going & gone to waste. He and Vick are both blessed and cursed, Cutler, talent & arrogance. Vick. talent & stupidity!!

It's sad. He's letting down the fans of Chicago and he probably could care less. So much talent but so little heart.

Orton may have had a bad game on Sunday night but I bet they are glad they got rid of Cutler.

Jay Cutler is a mentally weak person. His childlike behavior in Denver and one bad decision after another in Chicago leads me to that conclusion.

In sports, it's not just about talent.

Jay threw more picks last night than Orton has thrown all year. :103631605

I heard a Bear fan call him "Little Lotto" last night. (Pick 5!)

Along with all the Rex bashers. I thought that it doesn't matter who is the QB at Chicago, he will fail, and fail ugly because they have no idea what they are doing there on offense, have no idea what to do with a throwing QB, do absolutely nothing to surround their QB with ANY offensive skill players or blockers, and only put their QB in position to fail.

Last year with a then-pretty bad Denver team, he went to the Pro Bowl - half a year with Chicago and he is throwing as many or more INTs (and winning far less) as the last two guys who were run out of town. Meanwhile, one of those guys, Orton, is playing great for his new team and Rex is injured again so we'll have to wait to see how he fares away from the QB graveyard in the Windy City. Heck, even their running backs who are run out of town suddenly seem to be a lot better somewhere else (see: Thomas Jones & Cedric Benson).

One thing is certain about Chicago - no matter who is the QB, they will fail as long as that clueless staff is in place and don't bring in some people who know something about offense or at least a little about coaching QBs.

Grossman, Orton, Cutler - doesn't seem to be any difference: they excel other places, but all they can do is turn the ball over and lose games at Chicago, huh? Pattern found.

I'm talking about his INT with 3 rd and goal on the 1 yard line. Did you watch the game ? He threw 5 INT if you weren't watching. If Bears had that FG in the first half, perhaps all they would have needed at the end would have been another field goal to win by 2 points.

Gotcha...when you said his last pass, well, i thought you meant his last pass. Anyway, Cutler is still young and talented. He needs to devote himself to football.
Favre used to be a party animal, and Manning threw a ton of picks in his first few years. He can turn it around if he ever decides too. I'm glad i don't have to root for him though. That final play was horrible judgment with 7 or 8 secs to go.

The most ironic thing of all:

Whether it was Cutler in Denver & Orton in Chicago.........

OR

Orton in Denver & Cutler in Chicago...............

The MSM & Joe Pub continues to make excuses for Cutler losing and Orton winning.

GREAT POST HAT, Admitted Cutler has great talent, but for whatever reason he just can't get his team to COVER games-- for whatever reason-- the public gives too much credit at this point in his career, maybe someday when the pressure is off he may start to learn to manage games more effeciently in the way of ORTON, DILFER and BIG BEN.

Benson ran himself out of town. He was soft. Sometimes a good kick in the ass is all thats needed. They released Jones to make Benson the feature back. T Jones had the respect of his teammates - Benson didn't.

Everyone keeps saying how talented Cutler is. Talent is far more than arm strength which He of course has. If being a winning NFL QB was only about how far you could throw a football, there would not be many draft disapointments. Talent involves brains and coolness under pressure and some have it and some never will. I feel quite sure that Cutler belongs in the " never will " category. Favre, Brady, Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger have it and there are several others that could easily join the " Have " list but I say no to cutler as He has no class and will never be a classy person. Crybaby is his name IMHO !

Blame to QB, or not QB? That's still a question

<!-- Article Publish Date -->December 14, 2009
<!-- Article By Line -->BY RICK TELANDER rtelander@suntimes.com
<!-- Article's First Paragraph --><!-- BlogBurst ContentStart --><!--dropstart-->I think a reasonable person could look at this 21-14 come-from-ahead Bears loss and say it wasn't the quarterback's fault.<!--dropend-->
Jay Cutler screwed up a lot, don't get me wrong.
The Bears were ahead of the Packers 14-13 in the third quarter, and you'd like to think a quality helmsman could protect even that dinky lead.
But I had Cutler down for a potential five interceptions, though he only threw two official ones. Packers cornerback Charles Woodson alone caught one Cutler ball and dropped two others, the last of which, the game-ender, nearly drilled a hole in No. 21's chest.
Still, the loss seemed to be Cutler's fault the way a garage fire is the fireman's fault.
The new quarterback for the Bears (how does Denver look now, my friend?) is talented, and he's trying to stop the flames.
His biggest flaw may be that he can't adjust to lesser souls being around him. That, and the fact that like your old iPod, he sometimes goes haywire for no reason.
His ugly first-quarter pass to receiver Devin Aromashodu, which Woodson snared as easily as an errantly thrown Nerf ball, for instance -- what was that all about?
Consider that Cutler now has 22 interceptions for the season to go with 19 touchdowns. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, by comparison, has 25 passing TDs and only nine pickoffs.

Cutler sucks.

I am glad he will never play for the Patriots.

I would love to see him in Buffalo, Miami or New York. It would make the AFC East more winnable.

It's once again time to take another look at the great QB steal the Bears picked up this season. Another 2 Int. today and so far a mighty 22.4 QB rating. He's leading them to their 9 th loss today to wrap up another losing season. Not too shabby for a guy who self proclaimed that He had a better arm than John Elway ! :toast:mad:):)
